| Obviously I've had a lot of people tell me to watch NGE at some point (which I intend to do eventually) but I've only found out about Gunbuster just now. Is it better to watch this before NGE since it came out first or is it better to watch in retrospect of NGE? |

It's got biblical references and other significant similarities that would be spoilers if I mentioned them. All Gunbuster has in common with Evangelion is Shinji and Noriko are mildly similar, though the similarities end past the first episode of each series. | I just finished watching Gunbuter and I have to say, that I see a shitton of relations between NGE and Gunbuster. Sure they're completely different anime and have storywise nothing in common but you can definetly see how Hideaki Anno was "brainstorming"with Gunbuster for a brand new architecutre of anime which resulted into NGE. |
