I admit sometimes I do to keep my calculations right. It can make you focus more on the anime because you have to keep up with everything that's happening.

I use 1.5x - 2x for everything. I managed to make progress with my shows this way without ruining my education.

I'm kinda new to the speed watching thing (just started doing it since last month), but I go with 2x - 3x myself. It feels to be the most comfortable watching experience as normal speed feels too slow to keep me interested and beyond 3x feels a little too fast. I'm not sure how one can do 3.5x speed comfortably but it's not my place to judge.

In the past I wouldn't dare going past 2x, but things have changed now. Anyway welcome to the club and I hope you have a good experience. It will get better once the modifications are done :)

I'm impressed. The more u watch in higher speed, the more u get used to it. Just make sure you can understand everything.

I use VLC player, can usually speed up 8x +. I don't know what the others use.

Hi, I am new to this thing of plus speed. I tried, but my limit is 1.5, if I go any faster with VLC the seiyuu don't sound so clear, so the anime loses some part of its essence. Also for some series like Space Dandy I think you don't enjoy so much the art, which is awesome. So, how do you manage to understand the anime at such a high speed, do you focuse on subs?
Those are my thoughts for a first impression in increasing the speed.

I was like that too but it was still too slow. Maybe try using 1.75x a few times.

Hi, I am new to speeding up anime but I only do it on the anime I am not enjoying..
My speed limit is 2.0x on subbed anime, and 1.4x on dubbed anime.

I tried going faster on subbed anime but Windows Media Player won't let me as the video starts to stagger weirdly. Maybe VLC player is what I should use instead?

I highly recommend VLC player, make sure you don't get it from the Windows store. For really boring anime try 2.3x - 2.5x.

Also for the subs, I read the sentence as a whole not word by word. It will become natural after a while, just don't get stuck on a few words. Focusing is kinda important.

@jeikobu11 = Ah, OK. I'll download it and use that instead.

I gave it a go with 2.5x speeds and it was fine. Definitely an improvement. :)

Same here till i talked with a guy at work about it and he did it too but he discouraged it. Which i completely understand because of max enjoyment and savouring every second but the only way to fit a complete episode into your 1/2 hour lunch is to speed. once you're used to speeding you can achieve something close enough to max enjoyment so you'd be a fool to turn it down. But honestly i've felt something lacking sometimes when i watch lots in a day sped up.

helion1 I wouldn't speed up all the time, it can get very tiring. Once you have mastered it, then you can watch 3.5x + all the time like jeikobu11

I don't always watch in 3.5x, sometimes it's 5x or 2x. It depends if I really enjoy it like Aikatsu and dbs for example. Your right though, watching in 3x + speed all the time can be tiring. I'm used to it so you guys can do it too.

6x the amount of episodes so far. That is the amount of minutes it will take me in watching time.

How do you do about (speed increase) with animes like Tatami Galaxy, Madoka or Steins Gate? do you understand the main plot?

In my case, I use always in every video the speed x2 in an average anime, but are cases like One piece that i usually watch it on x3 or 3.5x, and there are others like Made in Abyss that my limit is on x1.25
