How much does anime miss from the manga?

Having seen only the anime, I cannot help but feel seasons 2 and 3 were rushed. In season 2, the romance between Chiaki and Nodame felt awkward with Chiaki being so sudden and largely imposing his desires. There was a lack of commitment from him. Season 3 was excellent, but the end was somewhat disappointing. Nodame’s recovery at the end of season 3 just felt so quick.

Season 2 was definitely quite rushed in the anime, they omitted a few characters but none of them were important for Chiaki and or Nodame’s development. For season 3, I guess Chiaki’s father was the most important character that they removed, he contributed quite a bit Chiaki’s emotional state and character development. But it wasn’t anything major, his father’s lines were converted other character’s lines such as Stresseman,etc.

Season 2 Chiaki’s romance development was pretty normal. I’m assuming by “imposing” you meant the kiss scene. The kiss was definitely sudden and was not the best move. I guess Chiaki is bad at expressing his love? People around him were pushing him to get closer to Nodame, I guess he felt pressured to do it. Especially in that time, they were spending less and less time together and it looks like Nodame is slipping away from him.

About your concerns of Nodame’s hyperfast recovery, it’s the same as in manga.
