Kemono Friends
| It's funny, unique, cute and has a genuine sense of adventure and mystery. It's CG isn't for everyone but I'd suggest not being superficial here. Characters are nicely designed and have distinct personalities based on their real life animal counterparts. Certainly one of the best series airing this season. |

| Their OP theme is on 1st rank on Itunes japan right now for 2 days straight. and their popularity have surpasses maid dragon and konosuba in some level. i also heard that they're already got 100 or 150 pre-ordered the 1st Volume of their BD this is madness for sure but good madness! everyone actually joking about " if you watch kemofure, your IQ will going down" but after they watch it " oh this is weird, i have mysterious enjoyment while watch this anime" " waaii! sugoi! tanoshi"    |

| I keep hearing recommendations for this show, but is it really just the CG that's turning people away? Could someone explain? I don't even recall the 2016 Berserk hitting ratings below 6 despite all the flak it got over its CG. Aesthete18 said: What series? I'm guessing it's because this one feels like a children show - not much is happening, everyone is nice to eachother and problems are being resolved quickly. It's simple anime. There are some darker elements too but I don't think this series will go full dark/emo because: 1. Creators are not stupid and destroy thing that made it popular in the first place 2. I think they said in some interview that good atmosphere is most important with it (along with stuff like nobody dies and so on) |

No matter how sexy the Friends look in your eyes. Educational, cute, safe... The plotfags would not find anything worthwhile here, I think. I don't expect any great wisdom, moral dilemmas, moral ambiguity or any other complicated things either. Most Friends are one-note characters who don't really get to stay with us long enough to develop. And even Bag-chan and Serval don't have much of a personality. So character fans would not get to enjoy it much too. Well, due to the way they ascribe personality to Friends, they probably aren't overused archetypes, but that doesn't make them interesting by itself. But you know what? I don't care about that. This show is still cute and warm. And the MC saves the day by being clever. That's all I really need to like a show. |

And then indeed comes complexity fetish. Which is actually wrong - there is quite a bit of stuff happening but it's either in the background (we are above all having fun here) or are references to how those animals act. For example in one episode MC meets lion, they talk and suddenly said lion starts to scratch things, which is what cats do. It doesn't affect plot but it's there if you are interested or want to learn something. |

But I can see people being disappointed after reading many of articles in Western media - about how good worldbuilding is or that it's some kind of deep story. So random fan might make himself (or herself) cup of coffee, somehow go through first episode in hope of getting those deep things... just to see 20+ minutes of dumb Otter juggling stones and Jaguar acting as ferry. Next two episodes are somehow more serious, said fan starts to expect big revelation... nope, Beaver and Prairie Dog are building a house. I love what they are doing here but it's simple story, with those deeper things being in the background. |

| In the very beginning of the season I watched the first 10 minutes and decided not to continue. Lately I've been hearing that it turned out to be pretty good and decided to give it another shot. After seeing a few episodes I really enjoy it. I'm glad that I gave this a second chance |
