What happened to this promising show?

Few minutes into the 8th episode and I had enough and finally dropped it. Why did they decide to go in such a depressing and pointless path?

The first season was cute, funny, and inspiring and then the second season starts off well but turns into a pile of forced drama episode after episode. Instead of investing more into each of the numerous characters, they just manufacture drama for drama's sake.

Everything is going fine them boom, let's shake up the idol division from the ground up just because? So dumb.

I was really hoping for some great moments like in the original Idolm@ster anime, like Chiyo (IIRC) finally singing, but this second season of the sequel is just to stupid.

Implying the first season didn't have forced drama too?

Cinderella Girls was never promising. The whole show was pathetic compared to the original Idolmaster series
