| A bit late but whatever. Just chanced upon this article. I think Ao Oni was one of the worst shorts last year but all the other choices seem fine to me although I would probably include some other shows too and rank them a bit differently. Tonkatsu and Luluco would still be the first two but in reverse order and Teekyuu would be lower (it's just not as fresh as 10 seasons ago anymore). The only one I have no opinion on is the Pokemon one. But if we include ONA's related to franchises I'd also be inclined to mentioned Mutsugo to Ouma no Monogatari. I just really like Osomatsu-san :> Koro-Sensei Quest could probably deserve a mention too, it was decent fun. I'm glad you at least mentioned Aggressive Retsuko and Saiki because I would probably include them on my list. Gakuen Handsome and She and Her Cat probably not so much. My top 15 (top 10 is too hard :P) would probably be something like (unranked): Tonkatsu DJ Luluco Saiki Kagewani: Shou Honobono Log (liked this one a bit more than Tabi Machi among the 4-episode ones) Galko-chan Miss Bernard Nobunaga no Shinobu Aggressive Retsuko Shounen Ashibe: Goma-chan Bonobono Sengoku Choujuu Giga To Be Hero Fudanshi Koukou Seikatsu 3-Nen D-Gumi with an honorable mention for Sushi Police, Sekkou Boys and Teekyuu/Usakame. In any case nice article, shorts need more love. Just felt like giving my two cents after reading the article since I make it a point to watch pretty much every short-episode anime that comes out each year. Your selection seems pretty solid though. Let me know if/why you didn't like any of the other shorts I mentioned. |
