| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Kind of surprised nobody created a discussion thread. That was a fun OVA. It's not a direct sequel from the original anime series, but it was kind of cool to see that the guys are now all grown up. I see some reviewers didn't like the change of artstyle to accomodate their growth, but I like it a lot. The 'final technique' and the reason behind the series title is kind of cool, made no sense but cool nonetheless. Most importantly, Recca wasn't as annoying in this one, he's more grown up. It doesn't really bother me that much that this is the spoiler for the ending, it kinda give me a reason to actually read the manga after that appalling anime series. Glad I watched this. |

| As someone who really did not like the TV series at all I actually thought this OVA covering the end of the Manga was pretty good. Even though it took a few lines now and then to gain context once I had I thought this was a pretty nicely executed thing. As I mentioned I really did not like the TV series as I found it to be very generic and bland with some pretty bad direction and pacing. But this Final Burning OVA makes me think that the original source material does have something going for it and perhaps maybe one day a remake could actually be decent when done right. Recca is still one of the more annoying main characters I've seen in a shounen but I certainly would try a remake if they ever did one. I'm glad I watched this OVA, it's softened the sour taste I had for the TV series so it was worth it for that alone. |
| Yanagi looks beautiful as always! That could've been a decent conclusion if the show is complete. I wish they'd remake this show. I know the plot is gonna be mediocre at best, but if the fights are well animated, I'm sure it's gonna be a solid show overall. 6/10 That ED was nice. |
