I actually really like the way ANN is set up. It's got a news stream, a database, reviews, and articles, so it ought to be a sort of 'one stop' anime site, however, as great as the news and database are, the articles and reviews are rather embarrassing. That said, the real problem is not the set-up, but the writers. I do like some of the writers on ANN (The X Button is interesting to read, and while I don't like the way he structures his reviews, I can't say I totally dislike Right Turn Only.) but overall, I just wish that they had a team of writers who actually like anime and the culture therein. I want writers who don't disgustedly mock the trends in anime, but rather embrace or at least understand them to an extent to not let them effect their judgment.

So, essentially, I want to rip the site off rather closely. I still want reviews, articles, and all the trappings that cover so many aspects of the anime culture, but done better, and by people who really understand it.

As far as writers go, I know a lot of people who are interested in creating a site like this, so while I am not opposed to taking in new writers, I am not necessarily looking for them. I am mostly concerned with finding people who can do news as well as technical work on the site. Ideally, I'd like a small team of news gatherers with their own specialties (i.e. western or eastern industries) as well as a graphic designer and a marketing adviser.
