Hey anime fans,

As I was watching Sakura Trick, I noticed that the visuals/cinematography was similar to the Monogatari series (although not quite as avant-garde). They both don't use a lot of black outline, they show a character's reaction during some dialogue with a colorful silhouette of their change in body language, they both do some weird camera angles. I tried seeing if the staff or studio involved with Sakura Trick were involved with Monogatari, but I didn't find any connections.

Does anybody know why there's a similarity? Does anybody else even notice this? Am I just dumb and unaware that this is a really common animation style that's not exclusive to these two shows?

The director worked on some Shaft anime (the studio behind Monogatari)
This studio pretty much has the same style for every anime they do so even if the director didnt worked specifically on Monogatari, he worked on other animes that has the same directing style. (Hidamari sketch, Maria Holic, Natsu no Arashi, ''ef: A tale of..'' series ...)
