Jonathan Nelson
It took some time for Jonathan to unpack his belongings and put them in the proper places, and during that time no one else entered the house. He was alone for now. After setting up everything in his room, Jonathan took some time to relax before heading outside. He decided to turn on the TV to see what there was to watch. Since this was an island for fighting, there was a chance he might even see a battle.
And it happened to be that he did see one: A fight between a red-haired duelist knight named Frank Papau and a creepy looking guy who was called "The Guy". The arena they were in was a desert, and both of them fought with hand to hand combat. The rules of battle were simple enough: Whoever was last standing or had taken less damage by the end would win.
Frank actually forgot to get his armor...And the overseer of the battle was generous enough to retrieve it for him. It reminded Jonathan of how he didn't even have armor of his own, which was something he hoped wouldn't lead to him dying before he could make enough money to buy some armor. He'd have to rely on his natural resilience being enough to keep him alive, which would be enough hopefully.
It was an interesting battle to watch, and it began with Frank moving in to attack his opponent using hand to hand combat. Frank's speed and skill helped him in the battle, eventually leading to him gaining enough of an advantage that his opponent surrendered. It wasn't until then that Jonathan noticed something strange about Frank...
He didn't use his sword..?
Upon seeing the sheathed sword that Frank had, Jonathan was a bit surprised at first. But quickly he realized what it meant: that knight wasn't willing to use his weapon since it would give him an unfair advantage over his enemy who did not have one. It made Jonathan respect this guy more to know that he had done this. Of course, he was unaware that Frank was literally unable to draw his sword unless certain conditions were met.
Watching this battle had also made him a little less nervous about fighting here. It seemed that these battles were not all to the death after all. He wouldn't need to worry as much about dying here, since it looked like attacking someone after they surrendered would be against the rules. Of course, he hoped to win rather than lose, but Jonathan didn't want to die in this floating city. He needed to become stronger so he could use the power he had to help make the world a better place, and with any luck get some actual money too. Getting killed wouldn't help him do either of those.
After turning off the TV, Jonathan left the area, heading outside to the city. |
