How is their life together in the Light Novels?

I understand that in the LN's, Vic and Kaz get married and live in NYC in the late 20's / 30's.

How is their life together? Are they affectionate? Is she still dismissive of him all the time?

I'm just curious how their relationship turns out, and if you had the time to share I appreciate it.
