Going retro for a few months, decided to catch up on some old anime.

Seeing how Crystal S1 & 2 didn't do so well, I decided to watch Sailor Moon and R, and then jump back to Crystal S3 and continue from there.

This watch order ok? Or do I miss some worthwhile filler anime-only arcs (I'm one of those people who don't mind filler, if they entertain me or add to the overall ADAPTATION.)

Wow, so few people watch this, it's taken 8 hours for someone to reply to you. :D
It's okay. SM Classic and R are far superior than their Crystal counterparts anyway. There are *some* differences, but nothing you would be sorry for missing.

The new Crystal season is actually way, WAY better the the first. So you should probably watch both versions now. Although I think Crystal is gonna be overshadowing the old anime with the coming arcs any day now.

i've watched all of the 90s anime, and i watched-.... most of the first two seasons of this-... thing.
honestly; first 2 seasons of old sailors are better than first two seasons or crystal,
but my favorite seasons of moon has come after the first two in the original too;
S was okay, toward the end- ripping your soul out, wtf?

but my favorite season thus far has been Super S, so i think it'd be worth it to watch that one, if there won't be a 4th season of crystal,
that said though, since i've caught up on my precures now, i'm planning on trying to maybe........ return to SMC.... once i've watched some other random anime, eheh ^_^'

I like to comment Episodes as i Watch them.

Considering that the 90s anime and the manga were released almost simultaneously, with the manga author only giving certain key elements for orientation, you might find the transition quite jarring.

I'd recommend to at least a synopsis of the first two manga/Crystal arcs.

Major differences are:
-The 4 generals being Endymions guardians in the Earth kingdom.
-Beryl was a woman in love with Endymion, which fuelled her rebellion against the Moon Kingdom.
-Chibi-Usa is several 100s of years old, her growth is halted by trauma.
-The Black Moon clan is a group of rebels who revolted against the concept of near eternal life in the 30th century.
-Sailor Pluto dies while trying to protect the silver crystal against Demand.
-Black Lady reverts back to Chibi-Usa when she sees Pluto die, realizing that someone did love her.
