| Probably because that was the April Fool 2008 version of the novel. This new version in an ongoing project, and the first volume is similar to the 2008 one - barring some extra chapters. |

How can I spot the diference? I downloaded one but I think it's the AF version... the cover is gold, appears Gilgamesh, his master, El-Melloi II, etc... but at the botton it reads "vol 2" Damn, this is what I hate about Fate/ material.. their translations are eternal xD |

I suggest you to read that one, then read the chapters translated so far of the manga adaptation (which follows the newer version of the novel, including extra scenes), then continue reading the new novel chapters translated on Beast's Lair and wait for the slow translation of the manga. XD |
