Since this is a sequel anime Some of you should Know the first anime is really really really long ( 103 episode) so the early episodes of the first season are pretty episodic ( in sense ) until you get to around the 20s then things get really good.

Well it is quite long but there are some filler episodes to skip. They are not horrible but yeah. I guess it's almost 20 episodes you can choose to ignore.

The list is wrong. Episode 27: My Mentor General Cross was all filler, and a messed up one at that. Being it contradicted some things in the manga, and derailed Cross' character.

I personally think everyone should just watch the whole thing XDD I recently started watching the orginal D Gray Man after hearing about the sequel and once you get past the first 6 episodes or so it just gets better and better with time....I'm honestly very impressed with just how good this anime is despite it being outdated in the animation department. And it also has sooo much in common with Full Metal Alchimist which makes it even more awesome in my book XDD

So yeah man new fans like me just stick it out for 6 episodes and watch the anime slowly take you by suprise and enjoy the ride like I am right now <33

One thing I think people should not skip at all are the General yeegar episodes it really helped Allen's character a alot ( I hope in season 2 it confirmed canon )

well technically ... those 103 episodes were part of three seasons.... so this is basically a 4th season

Well, I really want to watch the continuation but the last episode I watched of D.Gray Man is 52 or 53 and it was a long time ago. Can somebody tell me if I can just start watching the new series because I'm really curious and in the mean time I don't know if something major happens and if I have to watch all of the previous episodes to understand what's happening in the sequel?

well the third season does start around episode 51 or 52 so i think its alright to continue from there. Season 1 and 2 was more about character introductions but there is some plot towards the end of season 2

Well the last anime ended on episode 103. So you will miss a good bit of stuff, and some of it is important.

More like you will miss nearly all of the plot...

If your a first time Dgrayman fan or if you only watched the first 52 episodes and haven't read the manga, you NEED to watch the first anime in its entirity. The first 52 episodes are mainly introducing the characters, but the next 51 have major plot points that you need to know to understand hallow.

My suggestion for first time viewers is just to read the manga if you want to know the plot in time for hallow..it's faster than sitting through 103 episodes though the anime is still really good even the filler episodes don't feel like fillers imo but yeah if you want to get the plot in its enirety in time for hallow then just read the manga.

And no..you can't skip straight to hallow..that's basically watching the season 4 of a long running anime without watching season 1-3 ..which is like watching only the last 20 mins of a movie..

If you don't like Kaneki there's a 90 percent chance you didn't read the manga.
Read it now.
Just do it.
Don't question it mongrel.

To be blunt the first 50 episodes of the first anime has issues whether it be bad pacing or filler interfering and messing with the Canon in my honest opinion it only lives up to the manga consistently from ep 51 (start of suman dark falls arc)

I too recommend to read D.gray as in manga. You might not like the voice actor changes. Plus it's faster, but the first anime has a feel of it's own with voice acting and music being spot on.
