| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- I feel like they probably coulda gotten an entire episode out of that ribbon plot, maybe even a whole arc, but oh well. I laughed when Lum swore vengeance on Cherry anyway. :D Also of course there's a guy with glasses named Megane. :D Ah the old voodoo plot, but maybe it wasn't quite as old in the early 80s. This too felt like it probably coulda been expanded on a bit. Nice to see Ataru's parents bonding over playing with dolls/causing a riot anyway. :D I'm definitely enjoyin' them most so far. :D We see both of Shinobu's parents are alive and well in this segment, and we've seen Lum's dad before so if her mom ever shows up that'd confirm all three leads have two living parents, uncommon for a Takahashi series. |
| The ribbon trick was so cruel! I know Ataru didn't want to get electrocuted, but leaving her powerless is a big no-no! Glad he got what he deserved ( and his friends too for being pervs!LOL) The voodoo dolls were really funny! Especially when Ataru's parents were controlling the entire neighborhood and unknowingly caused complete chaos! |

| These episodes were the best so far, maybe because we actually got to see the characters interacting in different ways like Ataru treating Lum nicely for once. |

| Create more voodoo dolls to control people, what could have gone wrong? Also how would you destroy those dolls since damaging them would probably result into people getting hurt. Still waiting for some development in the romance part of this show. |

| Both segments had really interesting premises. A break up would have occurred in the first segment if this weren't a comedy. The parents playing with the voodoo dolls and causing mayhem was my favorite part of the whole episode. Also Cherry playing with the cat- In case I hadn't mentioned it, this def ain't for kids. The humor is definitely for teen and up audiences. The 'Never should have had him' is 100% a catchphrase. It's nice to know that most of the protagonists have both living parents who live together as a functioning family. Somewhat functioning, in Maraboshi case. |
