| @voidbreaker Don't trust the opinions of others on this dub/sub matter. It's rare for it not to be fine either way. Until MAL allows a separate score for the dub of a show, the best thing you can do is watch the first episode dubbed at this point. If at least 1 in 10 people say the dub's better, it usually is, but as you can see, you only have two opinions. I'm watching the dub and I see no issues with it. |

| Dropping by to make a note that there may be subtle differences between the Sub and Dub. I typically watch Dub, but I got halfway through the first episode and when a couple of the characters began speaking Chinese there wasn’t a translation on Crunchyroll. I went to switch to Sub to see if the viewer is supposed to get a translation for what they were saying and of course there was a translation. It bothered me to switch the language halfway through, so I restarted the episode in Japanese and the opening credits had the same song, but a completely different animation! I’m a sucker for intro/outro credits, so it was super fun to see the two different versions! Just based on this, I don’t know if any other elements or scenes might have been altered between Sub and Dub. I am going to continue on in Japanese just because Crunchyroll doesn’t offer foreign language translations for English Dubs. Makes me a bit sad because I already love the Dub voice actors for the characters who have been introduced so far. I would love to know if anyone has ever watched it the full way through for both Sub and Dub and noticed any differences! If I enjoy the show enough for a rewatch, I’ll watch the Dub and come back here to make a note about any differences I notice. (= On a final note, if you don’t have translated subtitles for when they are speaking Chinese (you’ll know about 12 minutes into the first episode), then you should absolutely switch to Sub because you’ll miss out. I hope this helps anyone who is also torn between Sub and Dub! |
