Okay, so I just finished Nisemonogatari, and I have a long way to go until I've caught up to everyone else. The Monogatari forums that I know of are all inactive as far as I can tell, so I have to come to the Owarimonogatari forum in hopes to get enough eyes on this.
I have to ask: Does anyone know the plan for the novels? On the Wiki page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Monogatari_novels), it says that Wazamonogatari is planned to be released in 2016. Is the end anywhere in sight? How many more novels will be published? I'm aware that the anime adaptation is close to catching up to the novels as well, so what do you think will happen when Shaft have nothing left to adapt and have to wait for the next release of the series? Are they going to act on their own? Are they even planning to adapt all of Monogatari? I'm worried that we might be left with an unfinished or unsatisfying ending for the anime if Shaft screws up or if the author of the novels dies, leaves the story unfinished, rushes it, etc. What do you think is going to happen?

They'll probably wait until more novels are published.

I believe Shaft does have an agreement to animate the entirety of the series- something which was done before even owari existed as novels, so I think it's pretty safe to say that as long as they continue coming out, they'll continue adapting them. I wouldn't worry about them catching up. All that would seem to mean is that we'd have to wait a little longer to see it animated- I highly doubt the situation would ever become anything like what's going on with the asoiaf books and tv show, so rest easy.

As for rushing the story or leaving it unfinished, I've heard that by the end of Zoku-Owari, 'things are mostly resolved,' so anything else to be released would be supplementary. In this sense it already would be 'finished.' I haven't read the novels though, so that may be incorrect and hopefully I'd be corrected if that was the case.

Worrying about Nisio Isin dying seems pretty extreme though.
