I watched the first season and I am mostly enjoying the second season(the unnecessary fan service aside)

That being said, I am not sure if I zoned out, if the pretty visuals and actions distract me or if I am just that slow....probably number 3 :D

What is this Anime's purpose?

Like I kind of got the first season's plot with Shiro being on the run but I don't really understand what the overall story is...why everyone is obsessed with the Silver king?

Because he knows everything that has to do with their powers and maybe the origin? That's my take on the plot.

He discovered the dresden slates and knows more about them than anyone. he is the first and oldest king and has the power of immortality . that about it.

With everything said above, I guess you can see that the K plot is pretty easy to follow. It's just the battle of clans/"street gangs"...it can't really get much easier than that.

I thought the purpose of this show was to see how much unnatural rainbow color highlights they could apply to a scene before the viewers eyes bleed uncontrollably.
There's no need for all this tension.

You're not slow there's a reason the new season seems random and vague. You only need to watch episodes 1 and 2 before seeing a seemingly drastic change with no apparent explanation. Keep in mind also we are still in the first few beginning episodes. There's still a lot more story.

This is by far one of the best new animes I've seen in a while. Even though the movie is almost a year older than the new series, I recommend re-watching the movie after the first episode of the new season. Then the second episode as it was probably intended. For whatever reason it was produced this way, the movie takes place after the first episode and before the second of the new series. Explaining most of the gaps in the story between eps. 1 and 2. And it will make it much easier to follow whats going on in episodes 3 and 4.

The movie is more insert than a prequel as it explains what happened to Mikoto, why Anna is the new Red King, where Shiro was, and what happened to all the Gold clan members as well as the Gold King.

I think people are jumping into the new series with out thinking about the connection between the movie and episodes 1 and 2 of the new series. The movie is what actually fills in the huge chunk of story that's "missing". But watching ep.1, the movie, ep2 in that order will clear up a lot more unanswered questions.

Basically clan wars led by Kings and the origins of their mysterious powers. Not that complicated but it's still AMAZING and very enjoyable.

The problem I have is a bit different. I find the 2nd season to be unreasonably slow. Very slow. Repeated topics, whole episodes focus on talking and nothing else. It frustrates me.

Are you against exposition? Don't get how that's a complaint and then series like monogatari are rated extremely highly.

To look cool. Look at all those characters, the only thing they get going for them is their design.

Agreed. I'd like to see more of those gold clan's usagi cause they look cool.

I think people would like to see more backstory on a lot of the characters. That's the main complaint I see on this series. It has a wide case of characters and unless you've read the manga then nobody knows much about them. Personally it doesn't bother me, I love the show how it is but I wouldn't mind some backstory on some of the characters, maybe even a few prequel series or something. If not that's cool too, not everyone needs a backstory all the time. Sometimes you just have to go with what is.

The anime is really simple. People with powers fighting other people with powers. Clan vs clan and all the chaos that it creates. It may not be quite as deep as Monogatari or something but it does what it does very well plus it's just gorgeous to look at. I like all the characters in it so far.
