Just like the one in creative corner, post your poems here!

Feel free to repost ones from Creative corner if you want!

Its late here so I'll just leave with a poem;

I wandered through the busy woods
and felt unsure of where to go
I wandered through the busy woods
and looked at all the forest folk
Who trudged along the muddy roads
that formed beneath their aging feet
and make their way to their own-

I looked, around and cried a bit
And knew that I was lost
The forest folk so keen their way, payed
No such care to me
And carried on their merry way
to leave me as I be

I wandered more, and more and more
but never reached my goal
And so I stand, and wait and watch
all the other folk for-
I wandered through those busy woods
And wander, I no more.

I cheated on a couple of lines there but its late so give me slack ;D

Please share yours here and maybe we can pick the best ones to be showcased every week or something!
I've been here way too long...

Had to dig up my embarrassing past for this one.

Oh great kings of kingdoms gone, were you content?
Oh great mountains old, what lands have you seen rise and fall?
Oh great and mighty sea, how much have you devoured and given?

Immortal have you all become, in hearts of the children and in the eyes of countless bards.

Foolish kings and wise rulers, I wish to know, how to lead a nation,
Looming mountain, I desire your everlasting endurance,
Sea, I want know the secret of your dual nature,

Yet immortal as you all are, you cannot utter a word,
The dead do not speak,
The ground does not shout,
A calamity can only use destruction, to convey it's sorrowful words

Even so, Immortal beings, I beg of you,
Bless me, Save me, Help me,
Lead these poor souls to salvation,
Give me the power to always look forward,

If not for myself, then for my people.

I wasn't going to do this initially, but considering how rarely I write poetry I thought I might as well share it. I was inspired to write this after choosing a card for my aunt which had the text "Can't help but wish on the twinkliest star, that this is your merriest Christmas by far!" From that I wanted to continue and include a short poem with my letter to her, but soon found myself wanting to invoke Christmas and winter into it. Thinking of including the #12 as appropriate I made it 12 stanza. Enjoy.

Cold, Bitter, Air, Brush against the bare
Dry, Unwary, Wind, Sap moisture from within
White, Blinding, Snow, Force the eye closed
Still, Rigid, Land, Frozen stiff where it stand
Stark, Naked, Trees, Longing for their leaves
Dark, Black, Night, Swallow town, street, light
Warm, Yellow, Glow, Shine dimly from windows

Drawn together finally, Once again family
If only for a day, Hours be merry and gay
Hearts warm, bodies toasty. Not cold, nor frosty
For the cold should be put at bay, If even for just this day
So that Christmas may be merry, and Winter days ever more happy
