Holy shit, Maria just went berserk in that fight. Glorious.

The fight felt fast though.

However, I am glad to see Maria finding her resolve to fight despite being injured and hurt. The best part imo is her using Igrnite and overcoming the pain. What a badass girl.

I loved it!
Seems the staff(read: Kaneko) really love Hibiki and Maria, always so cruel to the two.
Speak of Hibiki, Biki's rider-style henshin was super good in terms of effect and aftermath, now Maria did the same and crash/burnt.
I laughed so hard.
Good thing she got back to her feet end day, although it seems to be some requirement for the autoscorers to die?
Anyway, great episode, is it Friday yet?

Oh one more thing, if Hibiki had stick with going rock(fist), she wouldn't have went to the grocery and met her goddamn father.
Determine to fist much?

First the Final Boss, and now the one Autoscorer I didn't expect to go out first does go out first. The antagonist are slowing dying out (and in a order I did not expect), but that appears to be their plan (it did start when Carol "died"). I wonder what will happen or be left if this plans succeeds?

This episode did quite a number on Hibiki's father. Not really a great impression on us when he was first introduced (even if his behavior is kinda normal when dangerous or messed up situation is near; sad really) and there is the end....

Can't wait to see the story behind this.

I'm really getting confuse. The enemy destroys their Gears in the first part (almost like an objective and wanted them to transform when they could've finished them off), and now don't mind getting beaten after their Gears repair and become stronger (it kinda makes their first objective meaningless)?

Are they trying to get the Gear-users stronger on purpose?

The way that Galie was acting and saying makes it sound she wanted Maria to become strong when that doll could've easily finish her off.

I kinda hope nothing bad comes to ones who beat the dolls respectively and then there is Hibiki who personally defeated Carol.

I really love the "ignite modules" and maria's song was SO good remixed.

From what we can guess Garie did a distraction so that Phara could steal the research data (That they recovered in an sd Card ?!? What .... where's the protection ?)

The autoscorers maybe want to die and to train the Gear users so they can use the memories of the fights so that when they are reborn with carol they can stomp them and destroy the world like they are supposed to ?

Was a really good episode with an interesting Drama ending like we like it :).

ffs Garie, could you please not keep interrupting Chris's awesome song? Even the beach episode is boss, although some people are worried that this training day means no montage... I still have hope. Elfnein was super cute :3

Maria was down for the count, but the second S2CA/Voltage Maximum started playing I knew everything was going to be daijobu

Kirika and Shirabe have the ignite module too now, I can't wait for Des-step. So many good new songs.

Only Hibike would get excited about mushroom juice

Remember what Carol said before dusting herself. My bet is that the upgrades to the modules are not just within Carol's plan, they are the plan. She's probably going to have some function (or person) that either gains control of the units to some degree, causes them to go berserk, or tricks them into destroying something they shouldn't. Either way, the symphogears are likely the actual tools of the plan, with the autoscorers just being catalysts.

I think the people in this thread have pretty much got it, there's no way the ignite module isn't at least part of Carols plan. Probably why she wanted to destroy the original gears so they could be replaced by the sword of frickin murder >.> Elfnien is unwittingly in on it, they planed for her to get inside SONG.

Which is sad because the ignite remix's are so awsome :3

Great to see Maria back in action. I wonder what is Carol and Autoscorer objective? So far I'm liking this new season.
But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.

Nice ep this week for Maria fans. As long as I get my weekly dose of Chris-chan all's good.
Seriously wonder what data was stolen though. Probably something to do with the gears and how to manipulate them.

Definitely apparent that everything is going according to plan. Dainsleif isn't a cursed blade for nothing.

Also, didn't expect Hibiki's dad to appear in this fashion. I thought he was just a random dirt bag leaving behind children, but I suppose it's become a habit after abandoning Hibiki.

All according to plan, I'm sure. When Carol died last episode, machinery in the base started working and the flags came down over the autoscorers heads. This when Garie died, something activated in the base and her flag got covered in alchemical markings. Garie also desperately wanted to be "the first", and it makes sense if she wanted to be the first to get killed during this part of the plan.

I'd be more on him for abandoning his family than those kids. I mean he's clearly just a guy working at a convenience store...is he really obligated to look after some random kids during a crisis? I think a lot of people would have said "not my problem" and gotten the heck out of there. I didn't see anyone else run over there to look after those kids.

There for the easy comparison to the issue with his family and how he ran out on them. But that's a pretty minor thing in comparison to the real issue. He left his family and clearly hasn't maintained any sort of contact. Times got really tough and he got really gone.

No doubt at all that everything is going according to Carol's plan and it will be interesting to see what the group is going to do when they find that out. At least they are making note of the strangeness of the Autoscore's actions to this point. If they wanted to remove the gear users as a threat they could have easily done that, but they didn't. Nether did they make any real effort to capture Elfnein

I didn't think he was even an adult when first shown, just some hilarious loser making a scene about not taking responsibility and running away. When it was revealed that he was Hibiki's dad, I basically made fun of how he's related to abandoning children. Even if he was just a convenience store worker though, had he been given a "kinder" background story, he would have been expected to take care of those children.

Also, the first thing I thought of when he showed up and then skedaddled out of there was Shaggy from Scooby-Doo. Might just be me, but he kind of looks like him...

I actually really like how it was done, considering the first thing Hibiki did in the series was pull a child out of a battle zone.

Her father is like her antithesis, just a spineless nobody while Hibiki is out saving the world and rescuing people. Someone she must overcome.

The Autoscorers in this season act like the antagonists from my badly written early fanfics. That is to say, they seem to show up and attack for the sole purpose of letting the heroes know what they're doing and getting them strong enough to legitimately defeat them in the end.

In other words, they feel like villains whose only purpose for showing up in the first place was to lose to the heroes.

That came out of nowhere XD

The fights flowed better this week, looks like all the autoscorers have they're soul/energy or something transported into the banner when they die, probably to revive carol.
That's why they escape, they need to be beaten.

So it's safe to say that modified symphogears, dying Carol, and dying autoscorers are all part of some master plan. Although this fact is kinda disconcerting because I can't imagine what kind of goal would require planned death, and there's also the fact that the symphogear users must face some kind of suffering as a result of using the ignite mode D:

I guess that the patterns in the beginning of the OP represent the autoscorers dying (because of the pattern that appeared on Galie's flag) and maybe they die to revive that demon sword that is seen shortly after?

A little sad that Galie died, she was probably my favorite :( I originally thought that her appearance in this episode was abrupt and random, although after seeing this plan unfold I can see that they're dying for a reason. I wonder what the green doll accomplished as she turned invisible.

Maria has a whip sword, instant badass

Wow Hibiki runs into her dad at the convenience store :O awwwwwkwarrrrrd. Worst Dad of the year

I'm going to believe you write bad fanfics if you can't see through the plan Carol and the Autoscorers are running with right now.

The plan is obviously to manipulate the main cast to help serve Carol's end game. So far everything has gone according to Carol's plans. She destroyed the gears as intended, got them rebuild using Dansleif that she just happened to have around for Elfnein to 'steal', and now the Autoscorers are forcing the main cast to take them out similarly to Carol using those gears. Carol even said those cursed melodies won't save anyone. They literally won't because she's clearly intending to use them to service her end of the world plan.

Amazing episode!

I thought it was going be just a beach episode. Still Maria looks hot as hell in that swimsuit :)

Char ka? :O

I love how Maria had to try it two times just to overcome Dainsleif curse just to received her new symphogear. Though at least she now feels what happens to Hibiki when she went to berserk mode.

When her theme started playing, i thought Ressou Gugnir was about to be played which made me hype as hell!! I still wish they gave her a new cape. The reason Maria became my favorite girl in G is because how determine and strong she is as well as her badass cape. Come on there's not alot of characters that used their cape as their weapons :P

I think the dolls are trying to sacrifice themselves in order to further Carol's plans.

Lol that douchebag that didn't bother saving those children was Hibiki's father.

Amazing episode! Can't wait for the next one :)

Well yeah, I wasn't saying there wasn't a plan, I'm just saying that the way the go about getting it done is how I had my villains work in my early fanfics, which I acknowledged as poorly written. Whether or not the plan could work wasn't the issue I was having, it was the fact that they basically said in the beginning 'This is what I want to do. Now come at me bro!'

It just feels like a lazy exposition method to me.

I wonder how Carol and the autoscores always know where everyone is. And how they could find that data so fast, and why it's even laying around there. They have their submarine as HQ, why did they take data to the beach?

And why the distraction when Carie at least can appear anywhere she wants in the first place? Since they know the exact location of every Symphogear users and attached staff, as well as the data, just pop up there, take it, go back. The distraction was pointless.

She could always go die another time, suicide would probably work just as well.

I'm conflicted. In one hand, Maria finally got some respect after jobing hard during the season. In the other, Garie was my fav Autoscorer :( I guess her dying was part of their plan considering she didn't mind dying that much.

So, random convenience store dude is Hibiki's father, who happens to be an spineless coward... This has more plot twists that Code Geass R2.

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maria Went Berserk...and Stupid...I can tell why...it's almost similar to Evangelion Berserk mode.

Maria Then try it Again... only This time It Works... And She Rip Garie in half... THAT ATTACK ALMOST LOOKS SIMILAR TO SoulGain Final Attack Code Kirin!

But I'm starting to get where this is Going.... it Looks almost as if The Doll Wants to be destroy and At the Same Time Achieving Their Goal... Kinda Ominous Since It looks like When Garie got destroy her pedestal glows with awesome power(lol).

oh yeah and the rest was ok...But I have the feeling The Dolls really Know where they are at all times...even know where their base is...... Bad feelings...

OH yeah And there's that Hibiki's Father that FKING PLOT TWIST CAME OUT OF NOWHERE!?... WHY HERE?! lol

It's about time this series got a beach episode. All the girls looked sexy in their swimsuits.
I love that scene of Chris tired from all that training. I love the view of her butt and cameltoe. I will screw her!
That Symphogear looks really good on Maria.

I'm glad to see Maria kicking ass once more, she's been beaten down so many times already, but I'm also sad that Garie died. She was cute. I like her character design & color scheme.

What a twist. That cowardly guy is Hibiki's dad. Haha
