| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- I reeeeeaaaaally hate Hilary, lol. Everytime she opens her mouth, I'm yelling "SEND HER HOME" at the TV. And what she said in the beginning of the episode was false..it was actually Hiro who said Daichi could be part of the team..not Tyson. I'm glad we're seeing more Tala (finally!!) And doesn't Barthaz looks like a cheap Boris knock off? He is SO fake!!! lol @ Rick asking Max: "Stare much??" His character is great! |

| I think it is Rick that actually looks like a cheap Steven from 1st season.. Cmon, I want Steven back. This one is SO fake. Also his character and personality are not good at all. |

| A decent episode. I feared they would just make it another generic "Tyson is not in the right mindset episode" like the previous season. In the end the episode turned out pretty well with proper focus on the minor battles. Kai really showcased why he is called the best after Tyson in the world easily knocking out Torch Pegasus with his new Dranzer Gigs. The sequence for Kai activating Blazing Gigs was also done pretty well unlike most other Generic moves in the show being almost on par with Dragoon's storms. Hoping they maintain this standard and let other major characters also have proper cool animations. The members of Barthez Batallion having actual personality was somewhat unexpected (considering the past record of "evil" teams having no personality at all) but it does make sense that the writers would do something else considering repeating things forever isn't going to work out. Barthez letting Claude get hurt on purpose was pretty low but loved watching how Rick just brute forced through with Rock Bison. I hope he just gets proper character development in the future and becomes a decent character. The rest was also pretty neat with Tyson going up against Hiro though it wasn't that proper of a match. Would definitely like to watch Hiro going all out one day considering we don't really know for sure how well he does against Tyson but judging by his performance against Ray it would be safe to assume that Tyson would have the upper hand. About the battles in this episode... it wasn't surprising that Kai won. I wasn't very sure of the outcome of Claude vs Rick but the way it turned out was something pretty new. Aside from that, as @barelyalive mentioned, Barthez does look like a Boris knock off. Who knows at this point he just might be Boris himself with a new name. There has been a lot going on and now waiting for Tyson and Daichi to actually battle together properly and bring out their full potential. |
