I was really starting to dig the World of Seraphim. The essay at the end of the English release by Darkhorse was interesting to read though.

Too bad this manga was put on permanent hiatus which seems to be a common theme in Kon's manga. First Opus now this. Not saying that it's a bad thing as I actually enjoyed reading both though.

Agh, such an amazing story. The world Oshii and Kon created was completely enthralling. It really reminded of Hiroki Endo's Eden manga.

It's such a shame that they never finished this. But then again I suppose this wasn't a big seller.

I'm really glad that Kon decided to pursue his animation career but after having been captured by his beautifully drawn and well written manga like Opus and Seraphim, I can't help but feel really sad that we will never receive a continuation.

I was really excited when I heard that Maruyama was showing interest in finishing Kon's last movie but there haven't been any news about that either...

I'd love to know how Oshii and Kon intended to end the story but I guess that their creative differences might've stood in the way of ever finding a way to finish the story even if Kon were still alive.

Although some reviews claim that Seraphim's story was lacking the usual blending of reality and dream from Kon's other works, I felt like they were slowly approaching this theme as well by showing Seraphim patient's hallucinations.

And even if Oshii were to continue the story or adapt it in movie format, I doubt that Seraphim would feel as good as it did with Kon's drawings :/

For anyone interested in something similar, I would definetly recommend the movie "Angel's egg"
