I always liked the relationship between naruto and hinata but this movie did it no justice... Hinata's feelings developed and she fell in love with naruto over time but Naruto decides how he feels in what just under 2 hours? Damn shame really... It's cool their canon I guess. Story wasn't too great either. I don't know maybe I just expected more considering it's the LAST MOVIE.

No, you're not alone.
I and a friend hated this movie soo bad.
Hinata became a trash character and completely different from the Ninja-wsr Arc...
Naruto is too much stupid.

Everything is build to the last scene, and this scene sucks too.
The moon ... the moon... I can't even say anything about it.
This movie make me want to see more about Sasuke... and this alone shows that is very horrible.

Everyone and everything about this movie sucked hard.
You're not alone.

It's not the LAST MOVIE, just the last Shippuden one. And haven't seen it yet but as a NaruSaku fan I hate the idea of an entire movie just revolving around a pairing (especially one I don't prefer), and here I see NaruHina fans themselves admit the movie is crap? Makes it even worse.

I've just read the script of the movie and, I'm sorry for fans who like this "thing", but I knew It gonna sucks hard!

An "Last Movie" about romance, an element where most of fans claim It's not in the manga, just to show how much NaruHina is the best thing on Naruto story with obvious silly "romance" symbols like the scarf for the red wire, the moon, the knight going to save her princess...
After watching Hinata-confession animated episode and Death Mask in Legend of Sanctuary, I'm nearly sure they thought about making a Disney-like love song...

This movie and the 700th chapter were so "Shipping-service" and badly done It gives me the feel the main elements of this universe and all of the drama they brought were used just for making Naruhina and throwed away like nothing...

Plus, the thing I find horrible is how Sakura was treated!
First they make a advertissement where they make her say she's not the main heroine. In the movie, Naruto claims she was nothing more than a trophy for his rivalry with Sasuke and finally she's become a simple housewife (no more badass medic/Tsunade pupil) who is alone to take care of her daughter because her emo husband looks to not give a damn about her family...

Why so mean to her?! It's Pierrot Studio/Kishimoto/fans vengeance against her?

Hinata's character had a much smaller presence in the manga, but her actions made her a fan favorite surpassing the useless Sakura.
This movie nullifies all that maturity and makes her out to be a useless, lovesick damsel in distress who seems more concerned about a scarf than rescuing her sister.
Naruto too behaves somewhat un-naruto like but Hinata's character was destroyed in this movie.
If kishimoto really wrote this movie, its like he stabbed his own characters in the back and alienated fans.
As a naru-hina shipper this movie was a bitter disappointment for me.

Naru-saku fans gtfo. On a serious note though I did think the movie was lacking, but then again I don't high expectations of movies to begin with.

Since you're all so butt hurt about this story, I'm sure you all have better stories that got serialized and animated right? Let me see them.

Ok I still watched it. I watched half of the movie...I couldn't stand it after the UMPTEENTH time they showed Hinata knitting that damn scarf, so I fastforwarded the damn movie till the end.

Goshdarnit Kishimoto I tolerated how you ended Naruto the manga..but this movie seriously made me downright angry.

Let me make this straight: Although I don't particularly care for NaruHina, I'm not a total ANTI.
-The whole dream/memory sequence felt so forced as if we gotta get into Naruto's head to REMIND HIM about the confession to make him fall in love
-Sakura pining after Sasuke AGAIN
-Hinata reduced to this weak and housewifey character
-Basically the whole romance aspect in this movie annoyed the hell out of me (again Kishimoto if you knew you sucked at writing romance, why the HELL didn't you avoid it like the numerous other shounen mangakas out there!!!Plus your treatment of your female characters makes me want to bang my head on the wall)
-fillerish villain and silly plot-need I say more?

The only parts I enjoyed were 1. the beginning sequence (thought the ink-like effects were cool) 2. the ending sequence-the wedding pictures 3. Seeing the characters again animated

but other than that...CRINGE

Naruto went to shit during the war arc but this movie and Gaiden are even worse
Kishimoto should just stop ruining Naruto further and further with his shipping bs and bad storytelling

lol your last sentence is quite silly, so people can't complain because they aren't Mangaka's themselves?

What kind of mindless statement is that towards the end? We are the audience. We were supposed to be entertained by the story.

I personally didn't hate it but I get what you mean. I like the relationship between Naruto and Hinata, but there's just a lot of wrong things with this movie. Naruto's friends actually tried their best to pair Naruto with Hinata, even Shikamaru (he's surprisingly sensitive here, a little ooc I think).
Many characters like Hanabi, Lee, Ino, Tenten, Tsunade, Gaara got little to no screen time at all, especially Sasuke whose screen time was only as much as what appeared in the movie poster (Dang it I wished he came to help Naruto fought the Tenseigan).
This movie turned into shoujo-romance manga type combined with slice-of-life genre from how they depicted the characters and interactions of Hinata, Naruto, and Sakura. Other characters were bland who only acted like "fillers", cliche villain, some battles were cut (especially Sakura and Sai vs Ningyou(?) children), and forgettable scenes make this a bad (maybe average) naruto movie tbh~

I had my gripes about the movie, but they were small and overall I thought it was good for Naruto movie standards. There's a couple of things I noted going in and throughout though that many of you also noticed and didn't like:

- Very romance-y: This didn't bug me. Naruto in itself is not a romantic manga but it was put out there as a story of how Naruto and Hinata came together so I was expected as much and went into it with a differing mindset.
- Lack of Sasuke screen-time: Again, this story revolved around Naruto and Hinata, but if he wasn't going to be in it as much they shouldn't have made it seem like he would have a larger role to play in the ads.
- Sakura/Sasuke pining: A little dumb, but I've always seen Sakura as more of a ssiterly character to Naruto since the Pain Invasion so the role she played trying to play matchmaker was cool. I guess they didn't want her to end up alone so they just went back to square one (though still dumb).

As for the Genjutsu scene, I will be the first one to say Kishi didn't develop their relationship the way it should've. Hinata developed a lot, but Naruto's feelings towards her were never portrayed as more than clsoe friends w/ minor potential at the end. It's a big leap from there to where they ended up in 700 and that's what this scene was made to address; a quick-fix solution for a problem that should've been addressed aways back.
As far as quick-fix solutions go, however, it wasn't complete garbage compared to some of the horrific things they could've come up with. We all know Naruto is pretty dense and has a little ADD floating around his brain; with all the war stuff, it wouldn't surprise me if he totally spaced it on the confession from the Pain invasion. If he did remember, it was addressed in the movie that he didn't really know the difference between real love and loving a food, which he then realized after the fact. Am I saying this is the best way his interest could start? Hell no, but it's better than some alternatives considering the semi-iffy situation they put themselves in with their relationship before the movie.
I do wish Hinata did a little more ass-kicking; I liked the scene where she wrecked the puppets but I didn't think she was going to be a match for Toneri. The enemy had to be Naruto-level and Hinata isn't even close to that.
All that said, there were some parts I couldn't have cared less about and when re-watching the movie I tend to skip over, but bad isn't quite what I thought of it was.

those are just my thoughts though :p everyone has their own opinion on the matter.

Although I never really rooted for any pairings, I did feel NaruHina had more substance than the options, and I really feel this movie did not really do that pairing any justice.

It is not the worst of the Naruto movies, but it certainly is not among the best either. The romance somehow felt forced - and that coming from someone who rarely watches romance shows, that is probably a bad sign - the fights quickly turned into a super power mess, and Naruto ends up aiding the bad guy despite his efforts to wreak havoc upon the world.

One redeeming factor, however, was that the Byakugan was finally somehow relevant. Being one of the three powerful eye-abilities, it sort of got the shaft in the main story.

I also suppose Akira Toriyama's influence shows in this movie: Girl who has been drooling over guy finally gets him, main character is so powerful that no being on the planet was strong enough to face him, so they bring someone from space, and all the characters who have become irrelevant due to their lack of strength get their 5 seconds of screentime for almost no good reason.

This film is so bad i can't stand it. The fact i hate the most is that Hinata was portrayed here as useless doll, when during the ninja war she was brilliant warrior. And that scarf thing? God it was horrible.

Truth is; KIshimoto new that Hinata had shit development. At first, Hinata was a good character when she had short hair. The fact that Kishimoto made Sakura such a complex realistic character caused people to AUTOMATICALLY LIKE THE GIRL WHO IS MORE MARY SUE: Hinata. Mary Sue: usually a shy or kind girl who is SUPER considerate and understanding of everyone. She's somehow possess strong powers no one else can compete with and usually associated as princesses aka Hinata. Adding to the fact that Hinata was given LARGE BREAST AT THE AGE OF 15. Kishimoto that's literally pedophilla that you are promoting. Really sick.

A lot of Hinata fans, not all, don't have any sex-life which is why they LOVE HER LARGE UNDERAGE BREASTS. Girls like Sakura who exsist in the real world are the type men, especially Japanese/Asian men don't go for. This is why most Asian men date anime girls and pillows. (Kishimoto himself stated that Sakura was the most realistic character)

Female Hinata fans, not all, like Hinata because they wish they were her irl.

And the saddest part? ALL THE REAL FANS WHO READ THE FIRST VOLUME OF NARUTO LIKED THE STORY BECAUSE IT WAS ABOUT A BOY WITH A DREAM TO SUCCEED IN LIFE.

Hinata fans somehow manipulated the show into a Twilight Vampire series.

I don't understand how a true fan of Naruto and a true amateur of good stories can like that movie. Just the fact that they made a movie to justify the relationship between Naruto and Hinata is a hint. They knew their ending didn't make sense. Naruto isn't a romance manga but they tried in the end to pair the characters and justify it. I remember Mr. Kishimoto saying that he wasn't good at writing female characters and romance stories. But when you know that you are not good at something, don't try to do it.

Let me clear myself first. There are no pairings which make sense in Naruto end. The only pair which is a bit believable is Temari and Shikamaru. When you write a romance, you have to make it so that people can believe in the love, in the alchemy between your characters. And to make it believable, you have to develop it regularly. Example : Kirito and Asuna from Sword Art Online. I don't really like that series but I have to admit that their relationship, at least in the first part, is well-written and credible.

You have to make the characters live things together. It can be simple things like having dates, hanging out or just regularly having a discussion together or even other greater things like training together, fighting against each other or together. Well, you understand.

When in the film there are flashbacks of Naruto with Hinata that don't exist in the manga and when you see that Naruto needs to be told by everyone to look at Hinata plus the fact that he only understand when under a genjutsu,I feel sorry for that poor Naruto.

Not at all. Many were pissed especially in Japan. There was a huge backlash because people were refused refunds after finding out the plot. Studio Perriot is a bunch of Hinata fanboys, that's why this movie was the way it was. It makes no sense to the rest of the story. Also, it's not a good start to NarutoxHinata.

You are retarded for making a stupid comment like that. The female characthers are garbage in all shonen series. They are all damsel in distress like japanese beta like personality like. They are to weak to like strong female characthers. The ending as a whole was full of plotholes and inconsitencies.

I'm just like you. I have seen the movie and it is straight-up trash from start to finish. I can't believe how Hinata becomes the main heroine of the movie, confesses to Naruto throughout the series and then suddenly Naruto confesses to her until the end of the movie. It should've been Sakura because she has been his ride or die chick all the time if only she could stop obsessing with Sasuke and at least appreciate Naruto for everything he did for her. But no, Studio Perriot decided to ruin everything that I like about Naruto. It disgusts me to the fullest extent.

Are you people retarded ?? They were clearly teasing Naruto and Hinata's relationship since the pain arc. Why tf would they focus on other characters that are already in a relationship. Movie is about Naruto and Hinata. I loved the movie.

Movie is a 10 out of 10 for me not only because im a Naruto x Hinata supporter but because they really wrapped everything up nicely. During the 4th great ninja war their relationship really blossomed for the better. When Hinata slapped Naruto , thats when he finally saw her as a women and not just a friend.
