| Maybe this has been proposed before, but it just occurred to me: What if, when Serin was pregnant, Nex declared that they should abandon Chaos and return to Earth to start their family, and Serin's reaction to this was to hide their child in Chaos so that Nex would be forced to continue defending it? I think it fits pretty well with the characters' motivations and would tie most of the remaining mysteries together. |

| Considering how the past arc ended (with Ifritta starting to plot against Serin) my bet is on a scheme that framed Serin somehow. Even though Nex is portrayed as "all knowing" he did get fooled in the end so that is a possibility. |

I believe when Nex lost hist younger brother to Caladbolg he also lost any reason to go back and live in the human world. When he saved Chaos for the first time he accepted his fate and took the crown of the king. He realized Chaos (and Serin maybe?) is the only thing he has left to protect. |
| So he loses his brother and becomes obsessed with defending the world that destroyed him? I dunno, it just seems more likely to me that he's still doing exactly what he was from ch1 of Immortal Regis: protecting his family. When the series picks up, he's clearly hellbent on protecting his daughter, but for the years before she was born I think he was just protecting his 'lost' son. |
