| Just finished the Arise OVA's and went straight to the TV edits. Other than making the OP longer and using the same theme. It's pretty much the same as the OVA's I think the reason why they switched the order is because in all Ghost in the Shell Anime's. The first episode has Major jumping on the building and activating her stealth camo. Guess they wanted to keep the consistency. This is Episode 4 of the OVA "Ghost Stands Alone". They didn't even put the arc's name in the episode :( Only difference i've seen so far is Major shooting that water woman executive, they didn't show her body limping like in the OVA. I still love Major punching Batou like that XD I do notice the art and animation seems improve, even being TV it still looks more consistent in all throughout the episode. Also Logicoma seems to be narrating the PV episodes instead of being silent in the OVAs :) |
| Interesting as the TV series begins, I would have sworn that it began as the first OVA of the Arise series began, a point in favor of the anime series for now, waiting to see if the director will succeed in making a sense to this anime series. |

| Arise wasn't bad, but anyone who hasn't seen the Arise movies needs to watch them first. It's baffling that they'd start the Alternative Architecture series with the last movie, then movies 1, 2, and 3, and then the new content. The new content is fine. But the storytelling order makes for a confusing narrative timeline while spoiling the climax of the main plotline in the first two episodes (a.k.a. the cut-down final Arise movie). I don't get why they'd arrange the stories in this way; it's really bizarre. Maybe they just tasked an intern with doing a quick, late-night slapdash series edit and called it a day. g- |

| The comment section is so split on this. I can't even say it is Die Hards against New Viewers. I watched the first 3 OVA movies before the 4th one was ever available. So, I am going into this blind. This first episode was not bad imo. The action scene we did get was pretty good imo, the animation as a whole is pretty much what I have come to expect from Production IG. I liked this episode a lot and I am looking forward to the rest of the series. |
