I hate seeing Joe being so stubborn. Yohko is really outdoing herself.

Dammit Joe, why do you always have to be like that with her!

Lots of stuff happened in this episode, Joe being stubborn as fuck towards Yohko and Jose revealed to be the one who crippled Carlos. The match is becoming more personal now.

I think deep down, he knows and just doesn't want to hear it. That's why he's avoiding her.

Wow, what a twist.

Jose beeing the one responsible for Carlos fate was quite the revelation.

And boy, poor Yoko, one reason for Joes behaviour could be that he's already aware about what's wrong with him, but he's avoiding Yoko and the Doc just because he's afraid that the match could be postponed or worse canceled.

The 1% chance the Doc mentioned is the last spark of hope for me.

Nice to see that it wasn't Joe who did that to Carlos, saying this to him now doesn't help Yoko by any means tho, this just makes him want to fight Jose even more.

I'm sure Joe already knows what is going on but that won't make him stop now, he will fight Jose even if it kills him.

What I like about this show is the fact that's really realistic, especially when it comes towards Joe the author must have been a genius developing such a great character while remaining his attitude not like other shows, I'm not a fan of Joe's stubbornness but that's how he was from the beginning and it won't change.

Ah, I feel so bad for Yoko, Joe just won't see her no matter what, he just doesn't understand how much she cares for him. Honestly, I'm positive Joe already knows himself that he's punch-drunk, he just seems to want to fight nonetheless, even if he could completely lose his health by fighting. Turns out Jose was the one that crippled Carlos after all, somewhat felt a doubt at the back of my head that Joe crippled him...

I'm sure Joe already knows about his condition, that's why he's avoiding Yoko.

He just cannot risk that the match gets cancelled.

i think his punch drunk syndrome started ever since he got knocked out in hawaii by jose, and that was the only time i could recall seeing last his wild nature which pretty much led him to fight jose in public

Jose's punch is deadly. It was probably Jose's corkscrew punch that started Joe's punch drunk syndrome :(

Yeah, lots to think about with this episode.

Poor Yoko. She seems so concerned, but Joe's just being his stubborn self.

And the other two posts above are exactly what I'm thinking, about Joe's disappearance of his wild nature possibly being from Jose's KO out in Hawaii. It's definitely plausible.

Given how exhausted and beaten Carlos was after his bout with Joe; it was no doubt he was crippled from it but of course it was obvious Jose was the one who went overboard (like Joe stated) that cause him Punch-Drunk. As none of Joe opponent ever got Punch-Drunk. Wolf got a unlucky punch to the jaw, Rikiishi was severely overweight and Kim got his PTSD triggered during the fight.

joe probably knows hes drunk punch (which is probably CTE or brain damage) but doesnt care or want the fight to be disrupted.
