| Looks like everybody dies or is seriously injured. Moreover, every boxer has been shown in unsympathetic light, although some have redeemed themselves or it's been explained by their background. The series has its moments of victory, but it's not glorifying the sport, and it's especially critical of the audience's and the media's bloodlust that encourages boxers to go beyond their limits. I that get there's a message, but at this point the deaths start to feel pointless, which makes them more like self-parody. When Rikiishi died, that was surprising and different, but now it's just more of the same. It's not good for any series if character deaths start to seem inevitable. |

| Is the corkscrew punch legit? It sounds like something this anime just made up to increase drama, and I can't imagine how twisting your wrist would actually matter in a real fight. It's not like you can twist it fast enough to have any effect like "drilling", it seems like the only difference is going to be what way the fist is pointing. |
