I know this reply is tad too late but let me summarise it up for you
The story in the anime is not even halfway through the manga. It ends at Chapter 9, which is equivalent to episode 11. The pace goes 1 chapter per episode, with episode 7, 9, 12, 13, and 14 being fillers. I don't know why they did that with a short anime like this, they should've just continued a bit of the manga, especially episode 14 which made absolutely no sense to me.
To be honest the manga ending itself is not really satisfying if you ask me. I was a bit disappointed, but it's just a bit as expected.
Continuing from the anime
Rea ends up going to school again and Chihiro becomes his bodyguard, but Babu's condition worsens, and possibly Rea also, and a researcher comes from overseas interested in her development and offers help to them. Rea and Chihiro goes to the lab which turns out to be a zombie research facility called "ZOMA" which was built by his grandfather. He gets tricked because the head researcher turns out to be a psycho zombie girl loving maniac. Tries to kill Chihiro and experiment on Rea to perfect his drug. Chihiro with her Grandpa destroys all the drugs and kills the guy. Grandpa goes to hospital and Rea gets amnesia.
Spoiler about his grandfather
His grandpa is actually a half-zombie, he's over hundred years old, preserving his life through the hydrangea leaves. He had three wives. He made and almost perfected the resurrection drug to save his wives but failed each time. Chihiro gets to meet the second one. The grandfather made the ZOMA to perfect the drug
Chihiro's reason for liking zombie
Chihiro's mother was actually a zombie, she died one time and was resurrected by his grandpa. However, an incident happen and Chihiro also her sister ended up forgetting everything.
In the end...
On the final chapter, Rea and Chihiro meets again after a long time of separation on the Grandpa's 1 year funeral anniversary. Rea loses control after her amnesia and eats Chihiro's heart. Chihiro somehow manages to stay alive and gets himself a heart transplant overseas. Nevertheless, Rea decides to live in the forest, and secludes herself from the society while waiting for her time to come (her body to rot away, and her brain cells)
Almost forgot, this one is included in the extra
Two kids who I presumed as Chihiro and Ranko's grandchildren, goes inside the tunnel of white witch. The white witch (Rea) scares them and tells them to say Hi to their grandmother
@ariacelesta thank you for using your time to tell us about the end .
It hurts .. they should have atleast let Rea die in peace in arms of man she loved :( .
she was alive to meet Chihiro and Ranko's grandchildren .. she was undead alone for so long time . Poor girl .
@nekkoMaster You know I was surprised cause I had no recollections of writing any of the above, I actually do remember writing about sankarea but I still can't believe that I had written so much. I must have done it on a spur after marathoning sankarea and having the story fresh in my mind.
That aside, I'm pretty frustrated by the ending. I wanted him to hook up with rea, it's a bummer.
Why Gods of anime????? Why can't we have a perfect end where at least Chihiro and Rea live at the very best last moment of Rea's body??? Ooooooh god whyyyyyyyyy????

This actually isn't quite right about how the story ends.
Chihiro gets his heart eaten by her soon after his grandpa died, then gets a transplant while Rea leaves to live in the forest. Then at the 1 year funeral anniversary, they meet again and everything is fine. It turns out Rea can live for a long time because she ate his heart.
