Or Balloon Vine, or w/e the translation notes called him. The one behind the various happenings.

Do people think he was entirely a bad character? I mean sure, he caused a shitload of trouble for everyone, but I think it could be argued that he wasn't an entirely malevolent force, and this really came out during michi random. Via the emotion phenomena, he really made everyone's hearts connect and let everyone see each other for how they really were, which strengthened their bonds all the more.

To be honest, I really don't feel like Heartseed was a bad guy.
Lemme smang it girl.

I feel like like he made them all grow up alot and really fast.
Not quite sure if it was needed..but looking back at the last ep,they al seemed pretty damn happy.
But still throwing a girl of a bride is a huge no-go so it's a yes for me

Edit:clicked wrong vote button up top! Add 1 to the yes option :)

I know this was posted awhile ago but figured I'd add my input if others watch this in the future and wonder the same thing.

In my opinion heart seed was more so good then bad. The bridge accident was an over the top action to take but he was fully aware she would survive no problem and only said she had a half an hour left to make them truly dig deep into their emotions and it made iori realize she doesn't want to die when she said to taichi she feels like she wouldn't care if she no longer existed something along those lines. Like it would be better for her mom and others.

The purpose of this experiment or whatever you want to call it was indeed selfish on his part. But after everything that happened this group is so much stronger then before. Going through all this helped each of them with their own problems and insecurities. He maniplulated things to the point where no matter what they couldn't hide their true feelings and made old memories resurface. Like with iori when she was going through that identify crisis and became cold the only emotions heart seed allowed to be projected were her worst ones. He did that for a reason and in the end it changed iori for the positive. He did this with everyone of them if you look back Each phenomenon that happened one person in particular was more effected then the rest.

He was a jerk, but definitely not a bad guy.
I mean if you think about it, he said that the phenomenon happens randomly, but every time it happened it was at a critical moment, and every time it ended with solving someone's problem.
