I loved the side story, Rudues vigorously smelling a Divine Artifact replica in front of women he meets in his journey so that he won't have the temptation to cheat and make the girls disgusted of him. One of the funniest parts was when Rudues left Rinia to take care of his company he created under Orsted, and later finds that it was converted into a mafia organization with Aisha a collaborator. But goddamn, didn't want to see Pax again, especially him as king. I'll gladly look forward to his death, though I hope Roxy won't get involved.

unless a person just stumbled in, knowing he/she haven't finished or reached Volume 19 of the web Novel then consider that person "Spoiled"

back to topic,
i kinda like this Volume, kinda relaxing and all. especially after the Asura Kingdom Chapter.

The part that stick to me the most is when Orsted was giving Lucy a piggyback, I am imagining a Doting Grandfather lifting his Grandchild on his shoulder happily even though his hair is being pulled the he just brush it off saying ["Don't worry, just this much won't hurt my saint dragon touki"]. Now that is a sight to see, I really wish the illustration comes soon.

This was a really relaxing volume, a bit too relaxing since I never had the urge to marathon read it and even though volume 1-18 I took roughly a week I've been spending multiple weeks on this volume.

It's just so heartwarming to see the scenes with the family. Also it was so hilarious when they got to the beast village again. Pursena eating the meat and then coming with Rudy.

Also just gotta love how Eris basically took Pursena and Rinia as pets/pillows.

Oh damn, there were plenty of hints that their assumption was wrong but the one that gave it away was when Pax lowered his head.
I would have love to see how his redemption arc play out but unfortunately the author had to cut his time short to progress the story.

LN 19

Anti-climactic volume.

I got into it hyped for the war in Shirone, but left dissatisfied by the end.

Pax redemption arc..

Arus born.

Rudues tells his entire family ab his predicament.

Gain more allies for the Anti-Hitogami corporation.

Seems more and more likely that this isn't a standalone story and we'll be getting a Lara sequel or something.

6.5/10

Man, this Volume was so confusing. Never ever would I have thought that they would dig Pax out and give him a whole Volume. It suprised me how much Pax changed, I even started to sympathize a bit with him at the end.

The Volume felt a bit for naught, I mean the main thing that happened was that Pax killed himself at the end, this entire Shirone war arc was just created for the only purpose of Pax dying. Was a whole Volume really necessary? Rudeus himself says it "we hadn't really solved any Problems", all this preparing and drama for the war and in the end Pax just jumps, and the entire thing is over. I'm being honest, those round about 170 Pages that I read felt wasted, I don't think Pax was this important that it was necessary to dedicate him a whole book.

I'm glad I read the extra chapter, it was a side story of Pax and the Death god and his last conversation with the Death god before he killed himself. Helped me understand Pax a bit better, although I still don't understand why the hell he chose this exact moment to end it.

Imo this is going a bit downhill, I enjoyed it a lot in like the first 13 Volumes, but after the death of Paul they started to drag the story more and more. Faster story progress Is something what I really want to see.

This volume was great at deflecting my expectations, and that was for the good and bad.
I like how the volume goes in general, BUT I expected something different in how the volume would progress, if you see the illustrations, you will envision something different in how Rudeous starts to fight the Death God, I mean, that fight only started cuz they were fucking and didnt want any interruptions, LOL.

So my expectations certainly were played out, all the more how quite anti-climatic it gets, I was eager for the fight when it started but then it was so meh.
It is a call back to reality that Rudeous while powerful, especially due to his mana, still has a lot to learn, his experience in particular, it was not till the very end that he recalled what Orsted told him about his opponent, attack when you should defend, and vice versa, and that advice in the end didnt serve for nothing.

The truth is, IF his opponent was evil and wanted them dead, sayonara Rudy, maybe I was expecting too much of the protagonist, but he was so freaking outmatched, and the personality of Death God also is tricky, you dunno what to truly believe.

Now addressing what happens after that, I was also not expecting it, again this volume is gone in tricking you, Pax was a really interesting and realistic character, those scenes really had me invested in them, but also since Zanoba development was amazing this volume, all the more so with that PoV of him after this part where he explains all the changed that he has undergone, it was fascinating to see the depth the writer gave to him, and taking the opportunity to bring back Pax, and have him be a meaningful character.
You feel the plot connected in meaningful ways, even Roxy was affected, the world-building this writer goes for is very rare to see, so many implications early on you cant catch but end up building up, in this case to a drastic outcome and Pax's suicide.

Benedikte herself is a character I wanted to see more of, and I kinda expected not to, but then looked at the wiki and was positively surprised, but that would be spoilers for the Redundancy volumes, and if anything, the writer definitely left a lot of material to work with for a future sequel.

The chapters where they had to protect Fort Karon were neat to read, to see him with Roxy in battle again, only the two, and him facing his first war, and his inner conflicts, Roxy being there was all the support he needed~~

Orsted development is interesting, he is slowly opening up to the idea of having others aiding him, and if Rudy is right, Orsted half-expected things could be way different with Rudeous involved and was already considering having to fight Laplace in a different situation.
It is bitter that Rudeous will be dead by then, and this is not his story to make, but sweet in knowing he is building that future and Orsted wont be alone.

The bonus story was sad, considering it comes after we know Pax's fate, Death God is a really weird one, he appears much early on in the story when Rudeous is getting back to Asura from the teleport incident... his personality is refreshing because he can seem so ominous but then it is not a bad person and has this side of him that loves to cook, even if what he does cook looks very fishy.

"“To be honest, I rather wish you wouldn’t die,” Randolph muttered as
he slowly closed his eyes."
This packed quite a punch, it is not like we have read a lot about Randolph, but for him to say something like that, considering his personality...

Honestly, I was expecting feels, but that last part of the bonus story was underhanded, it works really well, and if you have read the web novel you are missing out on it, so I encourage those that do, in this case, to read LN Vol 19 (which is vol20 of the WN), and see it for themselves.

This volume caught me off guard, it was disappointing cuz I expected more from Rudy but also a more cliche showdown first the Death God, and it ended anti-climatic instead, but it makes sense.
It was honestly a depressive volume, but I'm eager nonetheless to see it adapted, and the consequences of this in the future.

Couldnt agree less.
I dont feel any drag even in the slower volumes, there is always some meaningful progression happening, this volume had good development for Zanoba, a bit for Roxy and also guides one to what we can expect from here on now, the goal has changed a lot, now they are going to recruit allies and try to build a team to take down Laplace.
This volume is the foundation for that.
