Also Hades, Zancrow, UR (Her mother), Simon are the most noticeable ones.
Wow, we're actually counting Future Lucy?

Flashbacks don't really count so I don't think Ur should be counted.

Zancrow will probably be revealed not to be dead sometime in the future anyway. Just like how people thought that Grey killed Racer.

Damn, Mashima. Gray should had died there. wtf? Well, well, I never expected someone like him to die. I guess it was the same case as Kakashi. He were important character for the latest arca and he couldn't get rid of him. :P

Huge plothole in this episode. If all the humans could see 1 min in the future and see they were about to be wiped out, why couldnt the dragons see 1 minute into the future and act accordingly? Smh. 3/5

tsk tsk tsk tsk :(

The dragons had a vision of victory, so they just had to do what the vision said and everything should be fine for them.

Plot hole solved ;)

I quote - "because Future Rogou and the dragons past through time into a different era and since they're people for whom time is already a bit warped they didn't even feel the 1 minute Ultear had created".

Ok,i understand that they evaded attacks and survived BUT they used the same attacks they used before and it magically worked this time...And Ul's sacrifice was predictable,i was expecting this starting from episode 19...

But we know that Fairy Tail is like that so its not surprising, its still fun...

Does that mean Lucy is also nearly died in the original timeline (and that Ultear saved her as well?) Man this woman was too awesome.

Ultear... I salute you again. You died like a true hero, one of the most heroic character of this show.

But seriously, she will forever live with the regret that her life is only worth 1 min... and that she couldn't save anyone. Man I feel too sad. I mean no one will ever be able to know it was her and that hurts. She saved so many lives... At least lets other know it was her, damn it. Now she is a obaa-chan for who knows how long.

One minute matters a lot guys, treasure each moment of your life...

Best episode of the entire GMG arc was animated just right. 11/10

Nice episode. I really liked Ultear. Her dead was sad. Sure, she saved many people but she doesn't know that. I don't see much use for Ultear in future episodes tbh., so she might really be dead unlike Grey. :/
But this is Fairy Tail where dead means as much as it does in Dragonball, so lets see...

The one thing I enjoyed during this scene.. Ultear's voice ftw.
The manga gave more impact.. couldn't feel their deaths from the anime.

Okay the one minute look into the future is great and it saves everyone, awesome, but...why are Rogue and Sting suddenly able to inflict damage on the dragons? Prior to this none of their attacks were even close to working. Then somehow they can blow them away.

Like the Edolas Gajeel I'll bring up the hard questions.

Why can't we get some clear, meaningful deaths here. Why couldn't Levy's fat piece of shit friend have died? It's disgusting looking at him. Is the creator trying to make some sort of commentary on black people cause lately I only see him eating a shitton of what looks like fried chicken drumsticks. Same thing goes for those 2 old shits and Romeo. They suck. Gray is alive. That could have been a pretty meaningful death.

Now here is what's more important because it's clear that the stories of Fairy Tail usually make little sense. But this is even worse because they trying to be serious now and fail so hard to craft something logical.

Future Lucy wrote in her diary that the only hope for the future is to destroy the Eclipse Gate thereby taking everyone who came through the gate back to their time. So in future Lucy's time it follows a similar result to present Lucy's time in that the gate opened and dragons came through (although just 7 instead of 10,000) unlike Future Rogue's time when it was only Arachnological that came through and raped everyone. Could you actually imagine if Eclipse Gate 2 was successful and they blasted most of the 10,000 dragons? The estimated remaining dragons would have numbered in the HUNDREDS. These guys are getting raped by 7. LOL. Clearly the animators were not creative enough to come up with more than 7 dragons.

So basically in Future Lucy's time the gate DID open and dragons DID come through that gate, and she knew about it because she put it in her diary where present Lucy of all people found it because Future Lucy dropped it when she got up from sitting down on the bench. ok...

However, when Future Rogue reveals himself with the purpose of killing present Lucy, he justifies it because Lucy closes the gate bringing upon the end of the world for humans. Future Lucy saves present Lucy and swears that she didn't close the gate and would NEVER close the gate. In Future Lucy's time, she did not escape the castle prior to the opening of the Eclipse Gate so at the time there could have been an argument that she did not know what the Eclipse Gate did because she did not witness it and she only traveled back in time a few days to Present Lucy's time.

SO the question that cannot be answered now that we know what's in the diary is why would Future Lucy say that she would never close the gate when it is now revealed that Future Lucy knew that the Eclipse Gate was the source of this destruction. Her mission coming back in time would be to do anything and everything in order to stop the Eclipse Gate from ever opening in the first place. In fact, at the very least even after Future Lucy received her death blow, she could have given her team a verbal warning to make sure that the gate does not open. Or tell them to close the gate if it does open. Or to destroy the gate if it does open. Just one of those verbal warnings could have stopped or mitigated the effects of the Eclipse Gate.

Things that happened after Future Lucy traveled back in time but before Future Lucy was killed so she knows all of the following: Present Lucy and Yukino use their celestial keys to finish the last phase of the Eclipse Gate project. Present Lucy, Arcadyred, Yukino are taken prisoner. There was a day off from the Magic Games when Fairy Tail were all gathered together celebrating. Natzu and the others set out to rescue Present Lucy and then in turn get stuck in the dungeon.

As you can see the remaining part of the arc after the 2v2 of the Magic Games does not make any logical sense at all as Future Lucy did not reveal herself to her team until they were at the last stages of getting out of the dungeon. She could have prevented them from ever getting in the dungeon in the first place and not only that she could have prevented the Eclipse Gate from receiving the necessary celestial magic in the first place. Future Lucy does not belong in the story and her having been in it creates a hole in the story that can't be fixed.

The writers of this cartoon are clearly stupid and can't construct a coherent and logical plot. Done with this garbage.

Side note. When the Eclipse Gate opened, wasn't it weird that the soldiers and the princess were just standing right in front of the fucking gate? Why weren't they gangraped by the dragons coming through. The animators made it look like the dragons were walking in a parade. Also doesn't Future Rogue want the gate to remain open. This is part of his master plan. Lucy was alone at the gate trying to close that thing before she and Yukino did it together. You might want to guard the gate lock you idiot or have one of your dragons that are walking right past Lucy to I don't know.. flick her away. Because of that he has 7 dragons instead of 10,000. This further makes the number 10,000 so arbitrary by the creator. It honestly should have been like 30 dragons. You guys are just highlighting the incompetence of Future Rogue that he 3/4 of this plan just went up in fucking smoke cause he couldn't just stop 2 little girls from closing the door. So dumb.

Oh boy. I was shocked when I saw Ultears sacrifice was only worth 1 minute. But this minute gave everyone the chance to survive especially Gray who was dead.

Wendy and Laxus are a good team. That dragon definitely has a hard time. So they have to destroy the gate? Who in the hell will be able to destroy such a giant thing?

Everyone is busy with fighting so almost nobody is left over to do it. :o

It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. If she just saved Gray it would have been terrible, but it helped give everyone an advantage which adds significance in its own way. Plus did she die or not? If she did then there you go, someone died.

Aw X) but I really loved how Ultear's heart sank when she realized how little her life was worth in time. That part was great and pretty good for a slap of reality check. When you're dealing with something of such heavy weight that can change anything and everything, of course it would make sense for your worth to be of a smaller price to pay in comparison.

I loved what a big difference 1 full minute made as well. Superb.

Kaysolikeeeee. Are we gonna give Lucy a bigger role this time and let her be the one to destroy most or all of the portal or whaaaaaa? :3 cuz it'd be about damn time you make our girl shine, mang. She's one of the mains and people just treat her as a walking fanservice :'( I want her to have more dignity as a fighter, like give her a sprinkle of Erza for once pls D;

So Ultear pulls a Nagato. Well, Nagato has always been a favorite of mine, and Ultear's character arc ends resoundingly powerful...

@immuslim's diatribe about the future Lucy plot hole (posted above) is fucking legit, but fortunately my suspension of disbelief allows me to overlook this garbage. For all that it's worth, this is why time travel arcs added to otherwise not time travel fiction always kamikazes.
