Hmm interesting chapter. Hidaka is a character I find wise imo with his experience. I think as a teacher, there's a lot to learn but looks like there's not much time left...

Lung cancer is awful.

Oh crap.
Anyway I sort of expected something terrible with the way that last chapter ended.

The details of her life and the way she worked on the manga are great.

I expected sensei to die but... is this the last chapter of Kakukaku ever?
If it has solution, don't bother; and if it hasn't, why bothering?

Wasn't unexpected but still hit like a train.

Her life was just beginning to get on track and then she gets news like that, the feels..

Even though it was foreshadowed right from the very first volume, that panel where Sensei calls Hayashi and tells her about his condition almost killed me. To think that he never forgot about her even though she was engrossed in her own life...

I so appreciate the honesty from Akiko. From working so hard that she wasn't the most glamorous. Hair always up, no makeup, disheveled at times, sweats and hooded sweaters. While she drew stylishly cute characters that never had to truly worry about their weight and health.

This manga hits hard! It's so real. Of course, being a memoir changes everything. Sensei is sick with cancer. No spontaneous accident or random call from someone to reveal the news. Just the difficult truth and having to genuinely face the days ahead.
