Novel vs Manga

I was looking to know if this series at least completes the novel series. I know there might be some discrepancy but if the main story line is intact and congruent with the novels I would like to know. Thanks!

It's worth the read. The doesn't follow 100% but the major story arcs/and events are pretty much the same. Basically conclusion of the manga = pretty much the conclusion of the novels.

So if I am correct first I need to read Full Metal Panic! (manga) then sigma and I will cover all novels?
