This is the first time we've seen the short kid and the blond kid playing ping-pong seriously (at the beginning and in the middle of the episode), and interestingly they both seem to be somewhat decent. The short one and the blond one were actually returning each other's hits without screwing up... I'm especially surprised by the short one's competence. We have yet to see Maeno and Izawa competently play ping-pong.

Also, I've taken a special liking to the blond B.O. kid... he's just so pure. "I did it, Tanaka-kun! I held my breath for 25 meters!" While the others are flirting with and perverting over women and pissing in the pool, good ol Tanabe's just having fun swimming. 😂

Also, the 'straight man' Takeda is a bit of a douche to the manager.
I know I'm pointing out the obvious, but it's clear the manager already somewhat cares about the club; last episode offering her body as a reward for their hardwork; and in this episode, recommending the pool as a sort of therapy and stress-reliever, and also deliberately keeping Takeda company after everyone left to swim. She tauntingly said "I didn't want you to get lonely" but it's obviously implied that there's some truth to this.
And yet Takeda is still a douche. The manager may be blunt, but Takeda's just gRuMpY.
(Yet another subtly is how the manager ragefully called him "empty-headed" ... Takeda took it as an insult, when in reality, he really is ignorant to the manager's intentions.)

Also, one of the little things I picked up from watching anime is that all school clubs (aside from a president and potentially a manager) have a faculty supervisor. Is that who the balding glasses man is? I'm not sure what kind of trope they were going for with him, but I like the guy. He's nice. (;
It was sort of wholesome how he popped in at the end having bought ice cream for the club. (((;;;
There's a couple of wholesome moments sprinkled throughout these episodes.
