Ikaros and Tomoki Scene change? (Chapter 45)

I read this information off another website about the second film and it said this:

"Ikaros explains to Tomoki that she does not want to be given special powers in the movie trailer, while in the manga, at chapter 45, she said she does not want to be thrown away, and would like to stay by his side forever".

My question is why would the directors decide to go in this new direction with one of the most important moments in the story instead of staying with the original? To me, having ikaros express intense emotion (sadness) because she doesn't want be thrown away and that she wants to stay by her master's side forever more than anything, feels like it would more interesting to see in the movie and definitely warm the hearts of the fans. It doesn't make sense to have her do this other thing ,in the quote above, as a response to losing her eternal bond with him through the breaking of her chains. The fact that she is connected with him brings her immense happiness. This particular moment illustrates how ikaros truly feels for her master . It was so incredible to see them reconnect in the manga that it really bothers me that the directors aren't going to include it in like the manga did. In addition to that, I can't imagine her feeling any other way about this devastating lose (which is temporary) then how she did in the manga. I'll be disappointing if they do change it differently than how it originally happened.

No one here has any idea what actually happened in the movie beyond the fact that it only has 10 minutes of plot, but I'm fairly sure the imprinting being erased scene is still relatively the same. Your quote is probably describing how being an Angeloid and the master-servant relationship is distancing her from Tomoki. It's pretty obvious the theme of the movie is Ikaros thinking about why she was created just from the song "always smiling."
