| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- I made this a chapter discussion even though it's a collection of short stories, but the first short story is the one I wanted to discuss. (Our Change of Rhythms) Okay, so needless to say, I was pretty stoked when I came across this manga. I was literally thinking a few days ago what a manga would be like (or if there even was one out there) that depicted the characters smoking marijuana. I, being a user myself, wasn't sure what to expect if I did discover a manga with that. I was worried it would be in a negative way, so I was really glad that it wasn't when I read this chapter while burning an L under the moon one night. I felt like I could really connect to the protagonist Yanagawa. I also really liked Arishima. I think she was way better for Yanagawa than his girlfriend. I wish he could eventually find her and they can go off on their mushroom journey in South America ;D I also love that Yanagawa and his friend finally got some growth out of the bird seeds ! Best part of the ending lol. |

| I liked the 1st (our change of rhythm), the 2nd (city of spirits), and 4th (the sobering dream). The second would work well as a short with more development while the 1st and 4th are interesting enough for a 30+chapters story. The first was probably the best out of them all, with around 70 pages, but it could've been more, even as a one-shot. It represented well the authour though, I liked the storytelling and it makes me want to read more of the author's works. |
| That was such an interesting read. The only thing I have watched related to this author was the 2 episodes of Yesterday Wo Utatte and the horribly adapted Hitsuji No Uta. Reading this really make me want to read more of her works. My favorite thing here was how the characters were portrayed. |
