DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- Andre is a more loyal subordinate than Nicolas will ever deserve, truly a kind spirit. The humanity of these characters really comes out in chapters like this. Looks like they've been together all their lives, with that flashback of Andre pulling Nicolas out of the pond while he was flailing about. Damiens easing him up while he was pouring the sulfur on his hand was a strange but welcome touch, he's almost a bit too understanding in this situation. Doesn't he realize he's being executed? I'm also really starting to like Nicolas' character here, he's a self concerned ass whom has no respect for his nephew, he's like an unrequited mama's boy aswell. |
