The answer would be obvious to Murakami if it was Kuroneko that it was in that situation, but it's absurd to try to save her now considering the risks of doing so.

Poor Kotori, indeed.

Hold on, was Kotori's switch really different? I thought I remembered her switch had regular buttons on it like everyone else's. Unless the drasil in her is about to hatch, rescuing her would still be worth it. Better have something that dangerous to humanity in the hands of our protagonists than some psychopath!

Yeah, but at this point just keeping her safe would be meaningless. Unless they can figure some way to prevent (and soon) the Drasil from hatching, then they will have to kill her no matter what.

Makes me wonder if this is along the lines of what was happening with Kuroha in the intro of the series.
