Eh, still used BW style battle animation, looked kind of lame after getting used to XY. And it feels like the writers regressed Iris just so they can give her some forced character development. They were over this whole Dragonite not listeing thing a long time ago, and made this battle feel totally unimportant towards achieving her goal.

That clock tower scene was awkward, why not just send Dragonite flying to get Gible down. I also wanted to see Emonga and Excadrill too.

So this special was disappointing, but still, I like Iris and I'm looking forward to her return in XY. Hopefully she'll have a badass Garchomp (or at least Gabite) by then, since I don't see much chance for Kibago to evolve.

Iris's Dragonite in this episode reminded me of Ash's Charizard back in the battle with that Poliwrath.

Okay, Iris has a Dragonite with wings so it can fly why not send it out to grab Gible at that clock scene instead of making the problem look more dramatic. Well I guess that clock scene did show a bit of Gible's home so that's probably why they did that.

Iris could have one strong party with Haxorus, Garchomp and Dragonite if she decides to let her other two evolve.

Rayquaza makes a short appearance and it appears it is flying somewhere in Johto. Hmm maybe Eutreak City or Mt.Silver.
