Instead of just writing "Why Do You Like Utena?" as a topic, I wanted to do something a little more specific: how, if at all, is Utena Tenjou an influence or role model to you?

Utena doesn't influence me directly, but I'm inspired by her sense of nobility, justice, and her willingness to protect Anthy. Like Utena, I'm a friend through and through.

Well, at first her nobility, sense of justice and loyalty impressed me; and somewhat I felt inspired and also identified with her . However...

Later, when I saw the movie, that Utena surprised me again and even though she couldn't forget her past and get over it, I liked her way of acting and personality more than the anime one

I totally agree with you on the last part, Turbo Mugen. Akio sucks, what was she thinking? How could she fall in love with him like any other stupid, shallow girl? That's what I thought.

All that "I dress like a prince because it's a tribute to my own prince" thing was cool at the beginning, but later on... yeah, they seemed only mere words.

I haven't watched the movie yet, so I don't know how different Utena is there.

watching, waiting, commiserating
