| What if the Hokey Pokey is what it is all about? |
| Not to sound like a homer, but I expected USA to make it to the gold medal game. Everything seemed to be rolling the right way, then ran into the well-oiled machine that was Canada. A little disappointed, but I have some great takeaways; 1. It was great to see Teemu get one more medal to bookend his career, and given how the Ducks are playing, could potentially win a Stanley Cup. 2. Slovenia had a chance to show their stuff on a major stage and could open the door for more Slovenian NHL players in Entry Drafts. 3. Kristers Gudlevskis, goaltender for Latvia, had the best performance I've ever seen!!! Holey Moley!! That might have been my favorite game of the tournament, because they almost won that game, which is more than I can say for Team USA. |
[/url] | As a fan of both the Blue Jackets and Red Wings I was following the Russian team a bit more (Datsyuk-RW and Bobrovsky-BJ). Considering how the both the Wings and Jackets have been playing, this might be the first time Wings will be out of the playoff and the Jackets getting in. |
