In Defense of Isekai

It’s time to have a frank and honest discussion about my favorite genre of anime. “Fish out of water” scenario stories or as the Japanese call them, isekai, have been popular for some time. Homer’s Iliad can be considered an isekai if you think about it. My personal favorite non anime isekai story, not of my own creation, would have to be A Connecticut Yankee In King Arthur’s Court. So, some anime connoisseurs find isekai anime tedious. Now everyone is entitled to an opinion on isekai and I welcome those who have an opposing opinion. I only ask that we have a respectful discussion.
