Fuck the Words 'Manga' and 'Anime' Club

Cartoon - a drawing; a computer-generated image; a series of drawings; a series of computer-generated images; a series of drawings that when put together create animation; a series of computer-generated images that when put together create animation Animation - a series of drawings, computer-generated images, and real-life pictures, that when put together create movement Japanese words for cartoon and animation: Manga - Japanese for 'cartoon' Anime - Japanese for 'animation' And now, what people outside of Japan call manga and anime: Manga - cartoons from Japan Anime - animation from Japan It's pointless, dumb, and convoluted to use what were at first just Japanese words to refer to cartoons and animation, to take them and make them words to refer to cartoons and animation made in Japan everywhere else besides Japan. This club is for people who are tired of always hearing "anime this" and "manga that". It's for people who want to see this niche get bigger by getting rid of the pointless dividers that are the words 'anime' and 'manga'. These Japanese words have been Americanized and turned into English terms that are used to refer to cartoons from Japan. It's always been an American tradition to change foreign words and things to make them cater to our culture and language. Calling cartoons from Japan "manga" and all of animation from Japan "anime" only started in the 70s, so it can still be stopped. This is our club's mission.
