Signature Scripters

Club for discussing and sharing scripted signatures This is not a "can you make me a signature" request club. It's a club to request and share the knowledge of how to make one yourself. <strong>What are scripted signatures?</strong> Lately you might have noticed many signatures with different fonts appearing on the forums. Those signatures are not generated by MAL, but instead just display the data MAL provides. Behind every custom signature there is a script that collects the data from MAL and converts that data into an image for you to see. <strong>How can I get one?</strong> You'll need three things: 1.) A webserver that supports scripting languages like PHP, ASP or Python. It's hard to find a free one that is usable, so many people here did pay for their webserver or have them running at home. The majority of the scripts you will find here are written in PHP, and you can find a list of free PHP hosts in <!--link--><a href="http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=217409">this thread</a>. 2.) You'll need to know the basics of the chosen scripting language. We won't teach you programming, but there are plenty of other websites that can teach you the basics only a google search away. 3.) Find a pre-made script and a lot of motivation to get it done so it harmonizes with your server. We already have some pre-made stuff here at the forums that you can download for free; some have documentation and samples included which should be read and tested. Of course you can write your own stuff if you don't like to have something pre-made but it's useful to see how the existing scripts work. Make sure you don't say "I don't know anything, please help" because then you're missing at least 2 of 3 points.
