The "Hammer" Death Scythe, Marie was formerly in charge of Oceania.
She is kind of a Cloucuckoolander, and is obsessed with finding herself a husband (even willing to marry the most ridiculous things, like a toilet).
Marie has a terrible sense of direction, noticeably getting lost in the halls of Shibusen, and she has a calming and peaceful presence on others (though that does not stop her from being easily enraged).
Even in her human form, Marie is abnormally strong, and is able to extend hammers from her wrists to increase the force of her punches. In her weapon form, she takes the form of either a lightening-patterned hammer (manga), or a large tonfa (anime). She also has the ability to generate electricity within her body, and by extension, use a "hyper-nerve" technique to double the speed of her + her technician.
Aside from her last name being derived from that of the Norse god Thor's hammer, Mjollnir, her lightening motif is similar to that of Thor's reign of thunder, and Thor's father Odin giving up his eye (hence Marie's eyepatch?). Also in that of Mary Shelley and Frankenstein, with Frankenstein's monster being animated by electricity, and her obsession with marriage said to be similar to that of the Bride of Frankenstein.
