The more powerful Hollows, however, have access to a range similar techniques of greater power or use than their own unique skills. Hollows usually acquire energy to power their abilities by devouring souls, but smaller ones can also ingest energy from the atmosphere when in realms with high concentration of spiritual energy, such as Hueco Mundo. <div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: 110%;">Basic Hollow Powers<!--size--></span><!--center--></div> <div style="text-align: center;"><div class="spoiler"><input type="button" class="button" onClick="this.nextSibling.nextSibling.style.display='block';this.style.display='none';" value="Show spoiler"> <span class="spoiler_content" style="display:none"><input type="button" class="button" onClick="this.parentNode.style.display='none';this.parentNode.parentNode.childNodes[0].style.display='block';" value="Hide spoiler"><br> <strong>Soul-Body Separation:</strong> Presumably all Hollows have the ability. This technique allows a Hollow to forcibly extract a living spirit from his/her body. It is usually not used because Hollows tend to go after Pluses, who have no physical or living body to speak of. The soul is still attached by the Chain of Fate and can be saved, but if it is broken then the soul can prevent the Encroachment so long as he/she is placed inside a soulless body or animal. <strong>Acidic Touch:</strong> Many Hollows have this ability. When a Hollow grabs a human with their hands, the spot where the person was grabbed is shown to get burned as if acid were poured onto it. These wounds seem to allow the Hollow's reiatsu to seep into the person, causing great pain to the victim. The wounds can heal if given enough time. <strong>Cero:</strong> A highly powerful and relatively swift energy blast that can be fired from various body parts, such as mouth, tongue, hand or fingers. Only Menos and up can use Cero attacks, and it appears that stronger entities can use it more efficiently and forcefully. Cero also requires some time to be used effectively, so the enemy must be either not moving or busy with something else, or too badly wounded to even simply dodge it, with the exception of a few Cero techniques and users. Additionally, there exists quite a number of variations of Cero, which are usually unique to the Arrancar using it. <strong>Garganta:</strong> How Hollows and Arrancar move to and from Hueco Mundo. It literally tears open the dimensional fabric separating the worlds, revealing a tunnel of whirling, torrential energy that must be focused and solidified to create a discernible pathway. Usable by Menos and up, as where normal hollow simply vanish when coming and going from Hueco Mundo. <strong>Negación:</strong> Fields are used to rescue fellow Hollows. Only the Gillian-class Menos have the ability to use it. Espada are given a special cube-shaped device called Caja Negación meant to simulate Negación fields, which are used to trap and punish their subordinates if necessary. <strong>High-Speed Regeneration:</strong> The ability that allows a Hollow to heal most injuries very quickly, with the exception of the destruction of the head or vital organs. Only Menos-class Hollows have this ability. Arrancar give up Regeneration for far greater strength. <strong>Hollow Shot:</strong> A blast that is comprised of spirit particles. <strong>Unique Power:</strong> Almost all hollow have a power unqiue to themselves.<!--spoiler--></span></div><!--center--></div> <div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: 110%;">Arrancar-only powers<!--size--></span><!--center--></div> <div style="text-align: center;"><div class="spoiler"><input type="button" class="button" onClick="this.nextSibling.nextSibling.style.display='block';this.style.display='none';" value="Show spoiler"> <span class="spoiler_content" style="display:none"><input type="button" class="button" onClick="this.parentNode.style.display='none';this.parentNode.parentNode.childNodes[0].style.display='block';" value="Hide spoiler"><br><strong>Gran Rey Cero:</strong> A Cero that only Espada are allowed to use. It is performed by mixing an Arrancar's own blood with the Cero. The result is a Cero with a much greater attack power and speed as well as a change of color unique to the Espada. It is also many times more powerful than a normal Cero, capable of disturbing the fabric of space, it also seems to spin like a razor upon release as compress and decompress due to the sheer speed and raw power. It is a drastically potent Cero, used only by the Espada themselves. Using a Gran Rey Cero is one of two things that are forbidden while in Las Noches, as it is so overwhelming that it could destroy the fortress. <strong>Bala:</strong> An Arrancar-exclusive technique that hardens the user's Reiatsu and releases it like a swift blast of spiritual energy. While the technique is not nearly as powerful as a Cero, its speed is 20 times faster and allows for it to be fired in quick repetition. A Bala's speed and power varies with the Arrancar using it. <strong>Sonído:</strong> A technique used by Arrancar which allows them to move at extreme speeds, making it highly similar to the Hohō that Shinigami use. While somewhat similar to Hohō, Sonído appears to be more instinctual than Hohō, requiring no previous knowledge to perform. It also makes a different sound; rather than the swishing or sometimes silent Flash Step of the Shinigami, Sonído makes a booming or static sound. Vasto Lorde may also use this technique. <em>-Gemelos Sonído:</em> Arrancar use this technique to create clone-like afterimages of themselves. Up to five clones can be created using this technique. It is extremely hard to master, but useful. <strong>Hierro:</strong> An Arrancar technique in which the user's reiryoku condenses, creating a steel-hard skin strong enough to block a Zanpakutō. This also allows them to fight some of the sword-wielding Shinigami barehanded. The strength of Arrancars' Hierro depends on their spiritual power. While Hierro can block even released Zanpakuto the shinigami may be able to adjust and add mroe power into their blows, cutting through it anyway. The technique is exclusive to Arrancar and Vasto Lorde. <strong>Pesquisa:</strong> An Arrancar's ability to detect, sense and gauge the amount of Reiatsu in his or her vicinity. It functions similarly to Sonar. Mainly used to determine how powerful your opponent is. Pesquisa has shown some variation. One version involves putting your finger onto the ground, and a yellow light connects the finger with the opponent whose reiatsu you wants to gauge. Some involve moving into a concentrated state of mind and work like sonar, expanding outwards from the user. While some can determine the opponent's level of reiatsu just by looking at them. <strong>Gonzu:</strong> A supplementary technique used by Arrancar to devour as many souls as possible within a large radius to significantly increase their size, power, force, and spiritual energy, while being content from the devouring of souls. They are giant in comparison to other Hollows, dwarfing even the largest standard Hollows by at least the size of a two-story building, but lack agility and intelligence. They also have long tongues capable of breaking a fellow Hollow's mask. While a Gillian-class Menos is quite powerful, they are still much weaker than a Shinigami lieutenant. They are comparable to "foot-soldiers", reflected in their uniform appearance. Though Gillians usually have no personality to speak of, which makes them dangerous since they have no mind of their own, one of the many Hollows that comprise it might gain control over the new entity, reflected in the unique mask it wears in comparison to a normal Gillian. Only these Gillian variants have the potential to evolve into Adjuchas-class Menos. The evolution is facilitated by the continued cannibalization of fellow Hollows, even other Gillians. Adjuchas can vary radically in appearance; anywhere from bulky humanoids to animal or demon forms. The are typically much smaller than Gillians, but significantly-larger than a Human. They are also-much smarter than the Gillian-class, and have the power fight evenly with at least a Lieutenant level Shinigami. They are capable of controlling Gillian when in charge of the Menos Forest. Adjuchas-class Menos are much smaller in population compared to the Gillian class, due to the rarity of any one Hollow being capable of overwhelming the many other Hollows that comprise the body of a Gillian. Furthermore, the Adjuchas must continue to devour Hollows, or its mind will be absorbed by the other Hollows comprising its form and it will revert back into a Gillian.The subsequent lack of an individual will also preclude the reverted Gillian from becoming an Adjuchas again. They usually assume a form similar to human and have the greatest reiastu of all. Once this form is assumed they remove their mask at any time without worry of concequences. They are said to surpass even an average Captain-Class Shinigami in battle abilities. With strong bodies and incredible speed they command all hollow below themselves.
