The principal difference between Jashin and many religions is our refusal to believe in a purely omnipotent patron deity. We believe that this is impossible, as if it were ever the case, the omnipotent deity would set everything exactly as He/She/It would want it, and there would be no conflicting beliefs, religions, or anything offensive to said deity. Some may make a case for the deity's desire for humans to have "free will", but this is simply wishful thinking, as one's will is always submitted to whatever they believe in, whether this is Christianity, Taoism, or Atheism. We acknowledge this, and submit our will to a force that is powerful enough to be nearly omnipotent from our perspective, and will only grow in strength as the Jashin faith grows.
We believe in a deity known as Jashin, but do not acknowledge that He has a specific form or gender. The terms "Lord", "He", and even "deity" exist purely for semantic and metaphorical purposes, and a Jashinist will usually think of Lord Jashin as more of a binding force, or even a philosophical mindset.
Like many religions, ours acknowledges and venerates a prophet and martyr. His name was Hidan, and was one of the few Jashinists to have achieved true, literal immortality, completely incapable of death, regardless of disease, affliction, or dismemberment. However, he was later martyred by a vengeful, self-righteous sinner, becoming dismembered and incapacitated to the point where Lord Jashin took mercy on him, and rewarded him for his faith by way of an afterlife so glorious that no mortal could hope to comprehend it. Many also believe that his partner, though not a Jashinist, was faithful enough to Hidan himself to join the prophet in this afterlife.
