Link (リンク ,Rinku?) is a fictional character and the main protagonist in Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda series of video games. Created by Shigeru Miyamoto, The Legend of Zelda is one of Nintendo's core franchises, and has sold over 47 million copies worldwide as of 2007. The series' enduring popularity has led to many incarnations of the Zelda story and Link himself; the character's first appearance was in the game The Legend of Zelda. Link has been featured in other video games from Nintendo, including its merchandising, comic books, and an animated television program. Link was awarded with a star on the Walk of Game in 2005, alongside Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog.
Link is depicted as a Hylian boy from the fictional land of Hyrule. His age varies in each game, usually varying from pre-teen ages to late teens. Link often travels through Hyrule, defeating creatures, evil forces and the series' primary antagonist, Ganon. To defeat him, Link usually requires the mystic Master Sword and Light Arrows, or a similar legendary weapon, obtained after many trials and battles gathering magical objects or using other items such as musical instruments and weaponry.
Marth

Marth (マルス ,Marusu?) is a character from Intelligent System's Fire Emblem series of video games. More specifically, he is the central protagonist and Lord-class character of the original game Fire Emblem: Ankoku Ryū to Hikari no Ken, the third game, Fire Emblem: Monshō no Nazo, and the remake Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon.
Although all Marth's Fire Emblem titles were released only in Japan until the release of Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, he has acquired more widespread international attention through his recurring appearances in Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. series of fighting games. The appearance of Marth and Roy sparked a greater level of Western interest in the Fire Emblem series, and it was in part because of this that Nintendo began releasing the games internationally beginning with the seventh title in the series.
Roy

Roy in Fire Emblem: Fūin no TsurugiRoy (ロイ ,Roi?) is the main character of Fire Emblem: Fūin no Tsurugi. He is the son of marquess Eliwood of Pherae. Taught by Marcus and Cecilia, he was chosen as the next heir of Pherae to lead the armies of Lycia in Eliwood's stead due to his suffering from an illness. Along the story, he gathers more and more soldiers, and eventually captures the capital of Bern by force. Like his father, he is peace-loving, noble, and just, but he shows a rebellious side several times in the game. He is oblivious to many of the hints given to him by several of the female characters.
Roy is present in every chapter of the game, and is always necessary to seize enemy thrones or gates to progress further (except in the final chapter). Unlike most other characters, it is vital for Roy to remain alive. Death upon Roy will result in an immediate Game Over. He can have support conversations with a large cast of units, and he is the only unit who is permitted to wield rapiers and the Sword of Seals, a powerful weapon namesake of the game.
Along with Marth, Roy became a playable character in the GameCube game Super Smash Bros. Melee before Fūin no Tsurugi was even released. It is partly due to the popularity of both Marth and Roy in the West that Nintendo decided to release Fire Emblem outside of Japan. In Melee, Roy's seiyū is Jun Fukuyama.
