Miharu and her son, Masaki Midorikawa, have been living together after Miharu had divorced with her husband. Since then she has been a working as career woman for the past twenty years.
Twelve years before the current storyline, after Masaki’s father had left his family, Miharu was in a relationship with Sakaki; Miharu was initially engrossed, with the relationship, but wanted to end it as she realized it was making her forget the love Miharu had for her son where she later tried to break up with Sakaki by telling her superiors that Sakaki coerced his female subordinates into a physical relationship, thus forcing Sakaki to work elsewhere. Miharu was treated to be very special as compared to Sakaki’s other lovers where Sakaki became obsessed with her. This had caused Miharu to earn the hatred of Sakaki’s legal wife, Mineko Sakaki, who came to Miharu’s old apartment around 10 pm with the intentions of killing her; however, Mineko ended up meeting the young Masaki, who was disappointed that he met Mineko instead of Miharu yet still sounded welcoming, where Mineko had feel a strong sense of compassion for the child when she noticed in how innocently he believed that his mother was still busy with work and Masaki still continued to eagerly wait for his mother’s return. Years later, Mineko wanted to help Masaki to take back Miharu from Sakaki where she convinces Masaki to embrace his incestuous desire, for his mother, where he should be the person that could fulfill Miharu in both body and heart, something Sakaki can never do, along with having faith that Miharu will choose him instead of Sakaki. To put a final end to Sakaki’s schemes, Mineko then betrayed her husband as she had leaked information to the police that Sakaki was involved in drug smuggling. Mineko expresses to Masaki in how she happy Miharu was able to be with her son in the end; Mineko continued to mention that she will wait for Sakaki’s release, where she is the only person that could accept her husband.
Over a year later in seaside town, Kobe, Miharu gave birth to Masaki’s child, Kotomi, where the two are generally seen as a normal couple consisting of a young husband and older woman.
