Danzou is a Konoha elder, one of the oldest villagers in Konoha. He is also in charge of the ANBU faction named the Foundation. Later he is appointed as the acting Sixth Hokage (六代目火影, Rokudaime Hokage) after Pain's invasion.
During his fight with Sasuke Uchiha, he is shown to have the eye of Shisui Uchiha under his bandages on his face, while those on his arm cover many other Sharingan eyes for the purpose of using Izanagi, the forbidden technique of rewriting ones fate.
